Renting a vehicle from Alamo at the Raleigh/Durham Airport was a quick and hassle-free experience from start to finish. The staff were friendly, professional, and had me on the road in just a few minutes. The vehicle was clean, well-maintained, and felt practically brand new.
Returning the car was even easier. As soon as I pulled into the return area, I was greeted by a friendly employee. I simply left the keys on the dashboard, gathered my belongings, and was on my way in moments.
To top it all off, Alamo’s rates were very competitive. I highly recommend this location to anyone looking for a smooth, efficient, and pleasant car rental experience.

We were hesitant to book with Alamo, and honestly went back and forth a few times! There were some great comments and some not so great comments. In the end, Alamo was significantly cheaper then any others for what we were booking, 1 month with a Toyota Tacoma, pick up and drop off in different locations! When we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a dodge ram! And we were able to hire a car seat for our baby for the whole duration for only 70$!! We drove 14 thousand 216 kms across America, we were charged NO EXTRA COSTS!! We had a small chip in the front windscreen that occurred on our last day, and again NO EXTRA COSTS! It was such a great experience, we are Aussies, so we were a long way from home and were fearful of being slugged extra fees etc, but we will Deffinatley be booking Alamo again!
Price was good . Vehicle was not clean on the inside. When we picked it up. Wasn't filthy, but certainly had not been cleaned. After the last renter had turned it back in apparently they are saving money by getting rental vehicles now without spare tires
Glad we did not have a flat
Upon returning the vehicle, we were charged for gasoline, even though we filled the tank up immediately before returning it, they topped off the tank and added less than a 1 a gallon. And then charged us a rate of $6.22 per gallon. For that.
Well, that was only $3. And change, I am sure some bean counter figured out that if they do that with the millions of customers, they have, it adds up to millions of dollars. They collect and most customers won't notice or won't bother to complain. I called them and told them I wanted a refund which they provided. The Chrysler minivan, they rent has the stow and go seating, so we will continue to rent this vehicle. Since that is an important feature of this one over any other minivan. Most of the employees were friendly and helpful.
We reserved a Premium Full Size SUV on 4/20 for 11 days for a long trip where we required a lot of space. Pick up date was 6/18 at RDU airport. Upon arrival they had no full size SUV's available and had no explanation as to why. We were offered a mini van which was too small. We left with no vehicle and no recourse other than to try again in a few hours. We went back several hours later and still no full size SUV was available. We settled for a mini van for a discount and made it work. However, if you reserve a certain class of vehicle far in advance, the vehicle should be available, especially at a relatively large international airport. I should also point out that a full size SUV suddenly became available for another reservation while we were standing at the counter. It was given to another family that they claimed was ahead of us but they looked like they just came off a flight that landed and we had been there for hours before. I can't help but feel like certain reservations are prioritized over others based on the booking rates. I booked through USAA to obtain a discount through their perks program but I feel as if this worked against me.
I rented a car from Alamo a few weeks back and it was overall a pleasant experience with the staff. When we took the shuttle to Alamo, it was completely packed compared to National, which is basically run by the same people. However, once I got to the counter, the man who helped me was very quick and nice (it took less than 5 minutes). The man who guided me to the initial car gave me an option between 3 cars to pick from. I didn't care, so I picked the Hyundai Sonata. After driving for around 2 hours (and right before I was going to drive to my real destination), the engine light came on. I immediately called Alamo, who told me to go ahead and get a replacement car or wait for someone to come take a look at the car. I think the rep assumed I was stranded on the side of the road, but since it was still drivable, I drove back to the airport immediately. *There are long lines for dropping rental cars back, so if you have a car issue, make sure to tell the rep that, otherwise they'll assume you're doing a standard drop off.* Anyway, the employee told me to park beside the building for the switch out. Unfortunately, there was an even bigger line than before, but the National employee worked on my replacement as soon as I slowly slid up to the side of the counter and told her what happened. The manager came out and turned the wheel back and forth before letting me know the employee I was just talking to would help me get another car. I got a Trailblazer within 10 minutes or so and drove off. It was fine after that, and surprisingly took very little gas considering it was a big SUV and the amount of driving I did. When dropping the car off, I told the employee what happened as a matter of conversation while I picked up my stuff and he gave me a discount, which was really nice! Overall, the employees were all punctual and nice, even when things went wrong. I would go to them again when I'm back in the area.
