Absolutely ridiculous experience with Tuffy Tire & Auto Service Center. My elderly dad went in asking for ONE thing: a quote to fix a rear brake/caliper issue that we had already diagnosed ourselves. Instead, they charged a $69 “diagnostic fee” and decided to inspect ALL the brakes, which was never requested in the first place. Then they came back with a quote of nearly $1,000 to fix it. We checked the exact same parts ourselves at Advance Auto Parts and O’Reilly Auto Parts, and the parts totaled around $300. So apparently they expected us to pay roughly $700 in labor for a ONE tire brake job, which is absolutely insane. To make matters worse, after we declined the outrageous quote, the lug nuts had been tightened down so excessively that we had to go buy additional tools just to break them loose. That felt incredibly petty and unprofessional. If someone asks for a quote on one issue, maybe stick to what was actually requested instead of adding unnecessary inspections and inflated charges. Would never recommend this place to anyone.

Twin had to have her starter replaced because she was an hour from home with not many other options. They were able to get her in to replace it but way overpriced the total job AND tried to upsell for almost $1500 worth of services, most of which she didn’t even need. I understand the labor calls for a minimum time but the vehicle has one of the easiest starters to replace because I’ve done it on my own vehicle of the same engine in 20 min or less. Also, the CarQuest starter they put on, (which I hope was new and non reman), retails for $190 new with a core, and they charged $350, which is a mark up of 84%. I feel she was taken advantage for being a woman and someone who doesn’t know much about vehicles to question otherwise.

How do you consider yourself a legit shop when your whole intention is to rip someone off. My sister broke down and ended up at your shop. Her starter died, in which a new starter is $190.00 but you charge her 249.99… that’s is definitely a big upsale and then proceed to charge her 339.50 for labor… That job should have not took more than 1 - 1 1/2 hours to change… so either your hourly rate is extremely high or you charged her more time for the repair than it required. The only reason she had to do get the repair done was because she had no choice. Do better, quit ripping people off… you should be ashamed of yourself.

I had rims installed on my Acura TL they did a great job of installing rims on my car but... they didnt Wheel Balance them and they said they couldn't install the TPS sensors they charged me 190 for them to just install the rims so afterwards i took my car on the highway and when i got to 50 MPH the steer wheel started to shake like crazy so i took it to a different shop and they said he could install the TPS sensors for 80 bucks.
