  The gentleman changing my oil were extremely polite and helpful. They double checked everything. Jaeden and Hayden went above and beyond to make sure everything was done to great standards. Im extremely happy with my experience!

  My husband and I have been “hot and cold” on using Valvoline for the last 12 years (when we moved to Marion). The cost, the pushy upsell tactic, along with frequent mismanagement of the timing of incoming customers (one lane stuck waiting a super long time because the car in that bay having a long service, the other lane spitting cars out quickly but not moving cars around to assure first in/first out) led us to stop using Valvoline for several years. But the convenience of “drop in” service became a bigger priority for us, so we came back, and were very pleased to see different folks working there who were not pushy at all. That ended today with an exclamation point. Right away, the service provider (I’m assuming it was Bradley who was listed as the CSR on the invoice) made a sarcastic comment to another employee (loud enough to ensure I heard it) related to how dirty my cabin air filter was after I declined a replacement. At the end of the service, he told me that my rear differential fluid needed to be replaced immediately. I declined, and he proceeded to lecture me regarding how important it was to get this done every 15k miles and how it was recommended by Subaru, carfax, etc etc etc. He then asked “has no-one has ever told you this?” I told him we had owned a number of Subarus and had put hundreds of thousands of miles on them and never replaced the rear differential fluid. He proceeded to tell me that he “couldn’t believe that” and that if we were taking our cars to the dealership for servicing, they must be doing it without telling us. I told him we never took our cars to the dealership for servicing. He then proceeded to tell me “I bet if we looked at that fluid right now it would be black”. I simply said “ok”. He proceeded to go on and on and on about how he didn’t believe what I was telling him and emphasizing how “crazy” it was that our cars lasted that long without this service and that he couldn’t believe I didn’t know how important and urgent this was. It was incredibly condescending and inappropriate, not to mention completely incorrect. Subaru considers this fluid to be “lifelong” and although performance can be impacted if you wait much longer than 60k miles (a far cry from 15k), your car is not going to die on you if you don’t change it (as we know from plenty of experience). As a matter of fact, please Google “is changing your rear differential fluid before 60k miles really that necessary” and see what answer you get: you will see these exact words: “it is absolutely NOT necessary and this is a frequently used “upscale tactic by service providers”. We have actually had more than one lifelong Subaru mechanic tell us that changing these fluids is actually risky and should be avoided unless absolutely necessary. Also, please take a look at some of the past reviews of this location and you will see that the upsell of this specific service has backfired more than once. I’m not the idiot this guy must have thought I was, but despite the fact that I just nodded my head and smiled and said “ok, I believe you”, I am pretty darn agitated and have no intentions of returning. Shame on Valvoline for utilizing these extremely pushy (and, quite frankly, dishonest) tactics in the first place, and double shame on this employee for his downright rude and condescending behavior. I should also note that the other employees I encountered were very friendly and hate that they have to be associated with this overall bad experience. Update (my response to Valvoline’s response): I have already submitted a review with all of the details of my experience on tellvalvoline. You have my vin on that review because I had to enter the invoice info in order to leave it. It’s the store you should contact at this point, not me.

  Took gf's car in today haven't ever been but it went well. Took thr coupon I had, saw some of the crew doing small things to help people even though they weren't getting a service such as checking oil levels and stuff.

  I visited during the 50% off an oil change. They worked really hard to get each customer in as fast as possible while walking through the line of vehicles making sure everyone was ok. They also had beverages and pizza for the customers while they waited. I went after 5:00PM and I know they were exhausted after doing this since 7:00Am that morning. The employees were still so nice. I had an awesome experience.
