- MCMr. C4 days ago1.0I have been shopping at advance for over 25 years. But now it is time to go somewhere else. I don't know who the little blackheaded girl is but she is rude and for that. I am done doing business with advanced auto parts. Obviously she forgets there is autozone and O'reilly's right down the road Bad move. Whoever put that one in charge of the store with the way things are going online sales. I don't think advance can afford to lose many customers that were devoted to them like me.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
