They really work with you and help you. If you can't afford it, they will tell you what needs to be done as a top priority and what can wait a week until pay day. They never pressure you to purchase anything. They also almost always do a full inspection on the vehicle as a courtesy to help you plan your service costs.

I had a really great experience with Mike at Mavis Tires. I came in with a malfunction and wasn’t sure what was going on, but Mike took the time to clearly explain the issue and walk me through my options. What stood out most was how helpful and patient he was—he made sure I understood everything and didn’t feel rushed or pressured at all. The service was quick, professional, and genuinely customer-focused. Highly recommend working with Mavis Tires if you’re coming here—he made a stressful situation much easier to deal with.

Updating my review from 1 star to 5 5/8/26: I brought my car back in after contacting them about the issue and they were able to find the problem and fixed it free of charge. Turns out it was just a small valve causing Freon to leak out of my car and not the compressor. I will continue to take my car to Mavis. They truly do care about customer satisfaction and quality and I appreciate their willingness to correct the issue at hand. Do not take your car to Mavis on 127 in Hickory. I had my boyfriend take my car here because my AC wasn’t blowing cold air and I paid for them to recharge my AC and to also look for any leaks in the system. Spent over $500 the day it was taken in. A couple days later my car would intermittently blow cold air and then stop then finally stopped all together. Had him take it back to them to tell them it was no longer working and they tell him “oh the compressor was showing signs it was on its way out when we did the recharge” but no one actually told him that when it was there the first time. Offered to get me to spend $200 to fix whatever was wrong on top of the money already spent which solves nothing because the AC still doesn’t work. So I’m out $500 and now have to buy a compressor. I used to take my car here regularly for services and never had an issue but will no longer be taking it here and will take my business elsewhere.

I drive an ice cream truck. The Sunday morning of an event I had a flat tire on the passenger rear inside tire. I was able to drive to Mavis in Viewmont at 12:00 pm. They discovered the issue was the valve stem had knocked loose which caused the tire to go flat. They aired up the tire, and tightened the valve stem, put the tires back on and had me back on the road in time for my 3:00 event. Everyone was very nice and I appreciate the fact that I was able to get this issue fixed so quickly on a Sunday.
