I spent over $200 on two rotors today not knowing that there was a free promotional deal at the time of sale. The deal states that with a purchase of two rotors you get free break pads. Less than one hour after my original purchase, I called the store number to confirm this information and let them know I’d be coming back. I get to the store and the kind woman who had helped me earlier informs me that because this wasn’t done at the time of purchase that she is unable to provide the break pads. Disappointed but I did not contest. I wish I was made aware of this at the time of sale.

You guys gotta get him some better equipment to work with as your starter tester wouldn’t register my vehicle and the card machine got locked up. But thru it all he kept a steady attitude and pivoted each time to avoid any issues. He’s a good worker and has a level head on his shoulders.
- ABA & BApr 30, 20265.0Quan and Xavier were courteous, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. the Fram clearance is a huge deal! my home store, always Awesome (Trademart in W-S), did not have any so i visited 6 other Advance stores looking for "inconvenient" Fram items today. At Bridford 09903 they joyously welcomed me as soon as i entered the store and offered help. they were not sure if they had the exact filters I was looking for, but Quan looked anyway. they did not have any but while in the back Quan found a comparable filter that would work and brought it up front in case i wanted it. at every store they encouraged me to continue to the next store. of the 6 stores i went to, Bridford and 3 others were great! thats a big part of why I am a 20+year Advance shopper. friendliness, knowledge and a willingness to help others is what allows a do it yourselfer like me to get the parts i want at a great price without hassle or attitude. there are great community people working at these stores. thank you! you make a difference.

HOW DO BRAKES WORK?

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
