- AEAshley EubankOct 16, 20261.0I came into this location to get a battery for my car because every time I turned my car off it required me to be jumped. The second I walked in the gentleman that “helped” me was sitting down on the floor on his phone, and when he came up to the counter, he was huffing and puffing and moving his head around you could just tell he did not want to be at work. I initially told him I was there to get a battery and have it installed and he told me they did not do that. I explained my situation and how I did not have anyone to help me. I even offered this man money as a tip for helping me. I drove all the way To Asheboro advance auto because when I called them and told them they said absolutely we can do that. Furthermore, when I got to the Asheboro location, they explained to me that Employees are not to turn people away for battery Installs. I could understand if maybe it was a couple of minutes before closing, but this was at 6:45 PM. I will not be back to this location and I will not recommend it.
- GTgoat tOct 13, 20261.0Pure racism!! I had a very disrespectful experience at this Advance Auto Parts location. I came into the store looking for a fuse, and I went back to my car to check the fuse number so I could return and get the correct one. When I came back inside, the manager, Joe, accused me of taking a fuse off a package, which I did not do. Being accused of something I never did was extremely disrespectful and embarrassing. I felt like I was being unfairly targeted, and the way I was treated made me question whether racism played a role in how I was approached. Instead of treating me with respect, the manager made an accusation without giving me a fair chance. Customers should not have to walk into a store and feel judged or falsely accused. The way this situation was handled was completely unacceptable. I will not be returning to this location, and I would not recommend shopping here based on my experience. Management needs to take customer treatment seriously because nobody deserves to be treated this way. Manger joe is racist.

They also ran a check on the engine to make sure my alternator was good. They went the extra mile and I appreciate them very much! This was the advanced Auto on Gate City Boulevard. Well done gentleman!

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
