I unfortunately did not catch the gentleman’s name that helped me (Friday 2/20/26 about 5pm), but I told him which lights came on, and he guessed it may be my alternator, and came out to my Subaru with a diagnostic tool to confirm. This was so incredibly helpful so that I could call a mobile mechanic and let them know exactly what the problem was so they could fix it quickly and get me back on my way. Thanks to your associate’s knowledge, skill, and prompt assistance, a situation that could have derailed my family’s trip turned out to be just a minor inconvenience. While he would not accept any payment for his help, I would like for management of this store to know that his time and experience are a valuable asset to your organization, and I am very thankful for his help.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward.
