Aaron Blackwelder was dishonest with me. When I called the day before, he said the recall part was in and it was not. I asked him when it would be available? He said, Friday or Saturday. He said they are opened on Saturday and the service center was closed, so I had to wait until Monday to pick vehicle up. My husband checked on vehicle while it was being worked on. Come to find out the technician had put a grinder on my part to destroy it and said the part needed to be replaced. My husband argued saying you owe us a new part for free which we got. They are trying to sell you things that are unnecessary ! I would definitely not trust them!!

I recently bought my 2026 Santa Fe Limited and couldn't be happier with how smooth and fun the whole process was. Drew was fantastic knowledgeable, patient, and never once made me feel rushed or pressured. He walked me through every feature of the Limited trim and genuinely seemed excited to help me find the right fit. His sales manager, Curtis, was just as great. He was upfront about pricing and numbers, worked with me to get a deal I felt good about, and made the whole negotiation process painless even enjoyable, which I didn't think was possible when buying a car! Between the two of them, they turned what's usually a stressful experience into an easy, genuinely fun day. I'm loving my new Santa Fe, and I'll definitely be back for my next purchase. Ask for Drew and Curtis you won't be disappointed!

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Keith Hawthorne Hyundai of Gastonia. Although, I am grateful to have received a engine due to a recall, while my vehicle was in the dealership’s possession and under their control, I was informed that it had been broken into and the catalytic converter was stolen. What has been most upsetting is how the situation has been handled. I was told that the dealership was not responsible and that I needed to file a claim with my own insurance company. The General Manager compared what happened to my vehicle to it being parked in a Walmart parking lot. I strongly disagree with that comparison. I did not park my vehicle there to shop and leave. I turned my vehicle over to the dealership for recall repairs, and they determined where it would be stored while it was in their possession. I was also told that there is no video footage of what happened. I understand that a dealership cannot necessarily prevent every crime. My concern is the lack of accountability and the response I received after my vehicle was damaged and had a major component stolen while I had entrusted it to them. Instead of receiving my vehicle back after its recall repair, I am now being told to file an insurance claim for damage that occurred while the dealership had possession of my vehicle. I am sharing my experience because customers deserve to know what can happen when they leave their vehicles for service and how a situation like this may be handled afterward. I expected better communication, concern, security, and accountability from an authorized Hyundai dealership.

Warning: do not trust Keith Hawthorne Hyundai of Gastonia. Short version: they held my car for 6 weeks, wouldn't communicate, and my catalytic converter was stolen while in their possession. I took my car here when my check engine light came on because it was potentially a warranty issue. I was told it would take 2 weeks to look at my car because they were short staffed. After weeks I tried calling for an update. I received no response. I was able to get a response to a text from my service advisor that they were waiting to hear from Hyundai. I waited over a week longer and heard nothing. I called and texted with no response. I had to go in person to be acknowledged, last Monday. I asked for the service manager but he ignored me. I was able to talk to my service advisor who told me that Hyundai requested more photos and that I should hear back by Tuesday or Wednesday. I waited until Monday to call again. No answer. Called Tuesday. No return call. Texted Wednesday. No response. Emailed the general manager Thursday. No response. Friday I get a call that it was a totally different issue and not covered under warranty. So it appeared that they had not even looked at it until six weeks after I dropped off my car. He told me it would be $3k to fix. I said no (because I know that I can get that issue fixed cheaper elsewhere). I told him I would have it towed home Saturday (today). He called me back less than 5 minutes later to tell me that my catalytic converter had been stolen. They took no responsibility for it. I went to get the car today and there was no manager available to speak to. They also left some kind of gross material in my coin area that has fused to it. I'm devastated. I'm 40 years old and this was by far one of the worst experiences I've ever had.

Did not want to give a 1 star! This place is SAD!! My car was there almost a month and they didn’t even touch it! Coming from a management background this is UNEXCEPTIONABLE! Lamar the sales manager you my friend have a lot of work to do but you need to have a class on FOLLOW UP because Blake the SA there ain’t hitting on shit! Too many excuses, nobody there to answer phones but that building has 3million sales men and 1 service tech! This business won’t survive and to the people who take there car to service, go to PINEVILLE to the state of the art facility with more techs and more Service Advisors who care! This was my one time to bring my car there because it’s closer but PINEVILLE knows my car!! Do not come here this spot ain’t it!!! My car battery is dead being towed somewhere who cares!!!
