- MSMark soap2 days ago2.0Pathetic place. Stopped in one time to have a starter bench tested. They are not capable of doing it. Stepped in the second time to get apart. They don’t carry it. They’re closed on the Fourth of July Saturday, understandable. Take the signs off the door! Next day at lunchtime, the signs are still on the door, and the shift manager is standing at a counter on his cell phone. The drink cooler is empty. This is a pathetic presentation of a business.

Knew exactly what to look for and how to get it. Even called other stores around town to see if anyone else had what we needed or could get it quicker than he could. Definitely recommend using the Advance store in Franklin.

HOW DO BRAKES WORK?

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
