  Mavis in Elkin has been amazing. My alternator went out on me, and I was stuck on the side of the interstate at midnight on a holiday weekend. I got it towed to Mavis (my first time being there). One of the assistant managers called me on his day off, Labor Day, and said he had been at the shop to clean up and went ahead and replaced the alternator. He had it ready to pick up the next morning. He was kind enough to explain what the alternator does and how it can affect the battery. A week later, I got my battery replaced, had an oil change, and got my tires rotated. They gave me a discount on the oil change and a free tire rotation. A few weeks later, my TPMS light started blinking and stayed on. I thought maybe I had a slow leak in a tire. It was 5:45 p.m. on a Friday, and they close at 6:00 p.m. Nick took the car in and checked everything, even though it was well past closing time. Everything was fine, and he explained that when the light blinks, it probably means there is a sensor issue and not a problem with the tire. He made sure all the tires were at the correct pressure and didn’t charge me anything. I am normally hesitant about going to chain locations. It is obvious that I have very little knowledge about cars; however, at no point did anyone try to sell me any services or products the car didn’t need. I am very appreciative of that!

  Got a nail in my tire. Nick, the guy at the counter, was very helpful and insightful and helped me get back on the road very quick and he was very transparent with everything 10/10 would reccomend!!

  Dealership quoted $6,500 BEFORE taxes!!! Got the HOOKUP from Mr Nick and Mr Tyler and the others at Mavis! 2500 RAM ALL front Ball joints replaced, front and back rotors and brakes, alignment and fuel filter install! All for just over $2K!! I won’t be going anywhere else that’s for sure!!!

  I’ve been several times, each time I go they take an obscenely long time to work on your car, assumedly because they have an hourly labor rate. I put up with it for a few years because the staff was nice and I am a young woman who doesn’t know a lot about cars so it felt like I could trust them. But they charged me $500-$600 for a new set of tires in March of this year and told me they’d last 3-5 years, what they failed to mention then and the next 2 times I went was that I needed an alignment which ruined 2 of my tires within 6 months of buying them. I felt betrayed. Still gave 2 stars because there is new management since the last time I’ve been and they are nice and worked faster, but they still expected me to pay $350+ to fix their mistakes.

  Tyler the assistant manager was a hero to me. I ended up coming in with a sharp object in my tire and he was more than happy to help get it fixed quickly. He also did an inspection to let me know my back brakes are almost gone. I will be going back for tires, an alignment, and brakes for my other truck after this experience.
