I have been a loyal customer for quite a while, bringing multiple work trucks as well as all of my personal vehicles here for service. One of the reasons I've continued to use this shop is because I believed the work was thorough. I never minded paying a fair price as long as the recommended repairs were legitimate, because I prefer to properly maintain my vehicles.
On August 4, 2025, I approved a repair totaling over $1,000 to replace the front and rear brake pads and rotors with Motorcraft parts. Shortly afterward, the brake warning light came on, so I returned in December. At that visit, I was told the brakes needed to be replaced again. I questioned how a complete brake job could fail in only four months, especially considering Motorcraft brake pads and rotors carry a two-year warranty. I was told the manager would get back to me, but I never received a response.
I followed up again in February, and once again my concerns were supposedly forwarded to the manager. Again, I received no response.
Now, in July, the brakes had deteriorated enough that I had no choice but to disassemble them myself. What I found was extremely disappointing: the vehicle still had the original Carquest brake pads that came on it, meaning the Motorcraft pads I paid for were never installed. Based on what I found, it appears the work I was billed for was not actually performed.
As a fellow business owner, I understand how damaging negative reviews can be, which is why I've spent months trying to resolve this privately. Unfortunately, after multiple attempts to communicate and no response from management, I feel I have no other option but to share my experience. I simply wanted the work I paid for to be performed correctly or, at the very least, to receive a response addressing my concerns.
Like to recommend TJ at Hall Ford. Stopped to look for a truck. TJ helped me, did not have what I was looking. TJ took my name and told me he would find me what I was looking. Sure enough when one came in on trade he called me the same day. I went to Hall that day and sure enough it was the right truck. TJ handled the transaction professionally. TJ does what he says he will do. Thank you TJ.

I had an excellent experience working with Hall Ford Elizabeth City.
Scott, TJ, and Tom made what could have been a complicated long-distance purchase incredibly smooth. We negotiated everything remotely, they were transparent throughout the financing process, arranged delivery directly to my home, and kept me updated every step of the way.
The truck arrived exactly as represented, and I’m very happy with it.
The only minor issue was that the vehicle came with one key instead of two. When I brought it up, Scott immediately worked with me and Hall agreed to help offset the cost of obtaining and programming a second OEM key, which I really appreciated.
Overall, I would absolutely do business with Hall Ford Elizabeth City again. Thank you to Scott, TJ, Tom, and the entire team for making this a great buying experience.
A very sincere shout out to Mike White at Elizabeth City Hyundai for the exceptional service he provided me with my purchase of my 2026 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy. I was really not in the market for a new vehicle as I already purchased a 2025 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy in April of 2025. But because I had taken my son's Kona in for an oil change, I wanted to visit with Mike while waiting. We started talking about the newest model of Palisade and I was curious so I asked to see one. I immediately fell in love with the new look and all the upgraded features of the 2026. I was sold!!! Mike made the process so seamless and easy. The next day I brought my old vehicle back and jumped into the new one, which was full of gas and sparkling clean!!! I would highly recommend Mike for your next car purchase. We purchased two cars from him already and would never hesitate if we were in the market for another one.

We had the worst overall buying experience all because you weren’t properly staffed. Your business manager is the epitome of why most car dealerships have the terrible reputation they have. We were there nearly fours and still never completed the sale until the following day after two couriers had to be sent because the financing paperwork was wrong from him the first time!
However, we do applaud Leslie for her efforts even though she was not our original salesperson She did as good a job as we could expect, but she never should have been put in that situation, and she is the only reason it is not 1-star. Matt and Jeremiah knew we were coming back the next day, yet they did not bother to mention it. Initially Matt seemed uninterested and impersonal, but once we engaged the second day, he was much better and my opinion of him changed for the better, but not sure if that's because we were to complete a purchase. During the same time, we realized the car did not have heated seats (a must for my wife), so it was a deal-breaker for us, but he became very accommodating in order to make the sale.
If you are potential customer, just know you will be going to a "typical" dealership and should expect a less than desirable experience, but pricing is fair if that's the most important factor.
