Terrible experience. Nothing but headaches and money out of my own pocket. Whenever I first bought the truck everything was great friendly people and seemed willing to help. Told them I was moving and wouldn’t be in an address a week in advance, made no note of it sent everything to the old address which I was called to pick up 3 months later. In that mail was a plate, which I was confused because I was told I was going to transfer tags, only makes sense because I paid my registration and was good until October. Again bought the truck in February. Received letters from the DMV saying I need to register this new tag I received, pay the property tax, and late fees because it has been 3 months. Again no mention of getting a new tag from the dealer and sent it to an address they knew in advance I wasn’t living at. Called the store and spoke to a sales manager, explained how they messed up and now I’m out money for their mistake. He said it’s not on us and that it’s you and the states problems now.

Just yesterday I had to buy my first car because my old car that was completely paid off unfortunately went out and I was so stressed out and didn’t know what to do. My father and I went to university Ford in Durham just to look at cars and the representative Tracy Nickels Was so warm and inviting she was really helpful and determined to get me the car that best fit me and in my price range. She showed me one car that I really didn’t like so we went to another dealership and I am got a phone call and it was Tracy. She went above and beyond to find another car that she felt would fit my needs and she was 100% correct all of this was a complete new experience for me and a little scary to say the least but I definitely put my trust in her and I don’t regret it one bit. She made the entire interaction smooth and stress-free and I walked out with my new car. I really appreciate Tracy for everything that she did for me and if you’re looking for a car, make sure you Go to university Ford in Durham and talk to Traci Nickels. You won’t regret it!!

Chris always provides excellent customer service. He greets me as i arrive, making me feel comfortable at at home. He is very knowledgeable and has a pleasant demeanor. We have been working with Chris for years, and he has never disappointed us. He provides support and offers needed services. Chris has excellent follow-up skills. The overall experience and waiting area provide a table and electrical hook-up so that I can plug in and work while I wait for my car. I was, however, disappointed when I did not see the normal snacks available, especially with the potentially lengthy wait for my car to be completed. It was helpful to have the coffee still available. My overall service was a 5. It would be nice, if they would reconsider bringing the snacks back.

I recently purchased a 2024 F-350 service body truck for my small business. The buying process initially went smoothly, and communication was positive up until the point of delivery. However, the experience quickly declined once the truck arrived at my home. The vehicle was delivered after a 2.5-hour drive and visually matched the listing photos. However, within minutes of completing the paperwork, I noticed a strong cigarette odor inside the cab. Despite this, I immediately put the truck into service, as it was purchased for work use. Within the first 1.5 miles of driving, several issues became apparent: Steering felt unstable, with a noticeable wobble and grinding noise during sharp turns A rear marker light was not functioning The gas cap emitted unusual pressure/gurgling sounds Trailer lights were inoperable (verified using a different truck with the same trailer) Hoping these issues might be minor, I continued using the truck briefly. However, after only 72 total miles, the check engine light came on. At that point, I contacted Al and Justin and took the initiative to have the truck inspected at a local Ford dealership. The diagnostic revealed approximately $3,900 in issues, primarily stemming from an improperly installed service body. Specifically, the incorrect fuel neck and lines were used, which caused both the check engine light and the abnormal fuel system noise. I paid $573 out of pocket for this diagnostic. To their credit, Univ Ford did step in after being provided with documentation. They coordinated directly with the local dealership, had the truck transported back to North Carolina, and completed the repairs at no additional cost. The truck was returned to me approximately 1.5 weeks later. Unfortunately, the issues did not end there. Two weeks later, the air conditioning system began malfunctioning—cycling between cold and hot air before failing altogether. This required yet another trip to the dealership. While this repair was covered under warranty, it added to the downtime and frustration. While I do appreciate that Al and Justin ultimately honored the repairs and made the situation right financially, the overall experience was disappointing. Purchasing a 2024 truck with approximately 30,000 miles, I did not expect to encounter this volume of issues—especially so soon after delivery. Equally concerning is that these problems were not identified during the dealership’s stated 155-point inspection, nor were they acknowledged by the delivery driver. The mechanical and functional issues I encountered were noticeable almost immediately upon driving the vehicle. I acknowledge that I purchased the truck sight unseen and relied on the dealership’s representation of its condition. However, based on my experience, I would strongly encourage others to conduct independent inspections prior to purchase whenever possible. In summary, while the dealership eventually corrected the major problems, the process caused significant inconvenience and downtime for my business during the first two months of ownership—time when the truck was expected to be operational and reliable.

University Ford, Durham Location. Great experience! Teamwork from Bobby Woodell, Sales Manager Riz and Finance Jonathan. Easy conversations, rewarding discussions and out the door respecting my time! It started on a blistering hot Saturday, I had been eye a used 2025 21,000 mile Ford F150 and decided to to check it out. Bobby walked out in the heat and I was just curious on seeing the inside. Bobby sent me to chill in the show room as he worked hard to maneuver the truck out, dedication. We chatted, we test drove, but I wasn't sure I wanted to unload my well maintained 155,000 F150. Riz and Bobby put together a potential price. What I liked was the no pressure, after my review, I told them I would be back Monday with a decision, no pressure. Bobby and I took the truck out for a longer test drive on Monday and I decided to trade and purchase. Next up Jonathan, Finance, I said how about a challenge of 15 minutes. Very impressive, he nailed it, even reviewing all the warranty options. I wasn't getting a loan from them which made it easier. I usually buy high mileage trucks or cars and I have had them serviced them at University Ford, Outstanding Service department. Always punctual and courtesy. Thanks Bobby, Riz and Jonathan, Mike
