Oil Change Services

Oil is the lifeblood of every standard vehicle on the road. It's crucial to regularly check your oil and schedule oil change service for your car to ensure it runs properly. Regular service also allows us to check for leaks in your engine that could shorten your vehicle's lifespan and lead to other avoidable problems.

Tire Rotation

Rotating your vehicle's tires is important for maintaining and managing treadwear on your tires, and in some cases is required in order to preserve your tires' warranty.

Brakes Service & Repair

Regular brake inspections help you to know when to service your brakes and can save you money by finding needed repairs before they become severe.

Mufflers & Exhaust

We can service, replace, and repair exhaust systems, catalytic converters, tailpipes, and mufflers. Ensuring these systems are working properly is key to elongating the life of your vehicle and maintaining optimal performance.

Wheel Alignment

Proper wheel and tire alignment helps your car's tires last longer, increases fuel economy, and improves your vehicle's handling. Our highly-trained tire alignment experts are ready to provide you the reliable, quality service you need to get back on the road.

Shocks, Struts & Suspension Replacement

Your vehicle's shocks, struts, and suspension are key components to ensure your vehicle's performance and a more comfortable ride. As such, it's important to properly maintain these components on your vehicle.

Car Battery Replacement and Installation

Nothing ruins a day faster than a dead car battery. Many factors could lead to your car not starting — a bad battery, failed alternator, or worn-out starter are just a few examples. Our highly-trained auto technicians and mechanics have decades of experience diagnosing, repairing, and replacing worn out car batteries. We understand how important a reliable car battery is for your car or truck to run and operate reliably. Every car battery replacement and installation we perform uses trusted brands and comes with a limited warranty on parts and service.

TPMS Sensor Replacement

There's not much worse than getting in your car, turning that key and seeing that little exclamation point icon telling you that you have low tire pressure. But if you just filled up your tires yesterday and you're still seeing that warning, it may be time to replace your vehicle's TPMS sensor.

Came in to replace my brake pads, they found my rotors needed to be replaced snd recommended a flush. Very nice staff, relatively short wait time, and maybe slightly overpriced but good work. Waiting area was comfortable, had free water, magazines and a TV.

Horrible experience from start to finish. They all started when I called in to get a quote for a new tire. The representative gave me an out-the-door price, and I told him I would call him back after getting a few more quotes. I called back and got someone else, and she refused to honor the price I was given. I eventually got a hold of the original person that quoted me, and was able to get the right price. After dropping the car off and leaving it all day, I got the call that it was ready. I came to pick it up, and they had not even put the new tire on the car. After I got home, I found where they damaged my brand new wheel that I had them put a tire on. I called back to tell them, and they tried to downplay it and make me feel like the problem for calling to tell them about it. I would avoid this place at all costs. Update....I contacted customer service as requested below. They said someone would be calling me back. Four days have gone by, and no one has called. I have tried reaching out multiple times.

Todd provided outstanding customer service! He was friendly, professional, and went above and beyond by helping us with our windshield wipers. He made sure everything was taken care of and was very knowledgeable. We really appreciated his kindness and willingness to help. Thank you, Todd, for the excellent service! Highly recommend.

It is 10:26 AM on July 2, 2026, and I am writing this review while sitting at Valvoline after an incredibly disappointing experience at Mavis Tires & Brakes on Catawba Avenue in Cornelius. I had a 10:00 AM appointment through CarAdvise for a multipoint inspection and oil change. When I walked into the store, there was no one at the front counter. I waited for about 10 minutes. During that time, another couple with two small children came in, followed by an older gentleman. All of us were standing there waiting, and there was still no employee available to help anyone. I finally went outside and asked the technicians working on vehicles where someone was. They told me the employee who handles the front desk was receiving a delivery and would be back shortly. I shouldn’t have had to leave the lobby and search for someone just to find out why no one was helping customers. When the employee finally returned, I gave her my CarAdvise appointment code. Instead of honoring my scheduled 10:00 AM appointment, I was told it would be two hours to have my car serviced. That raises a simple question: What is the purpose of making an appointment if you’re still expected to wait two hours? I explained that I had just worked a 13-hour night shift and needed to return for another shift later that evening. There was no empathy or attempt to accommodate me. She simply gestured toward all of the cars outside and said they all had to be serviced too. She also said that most people just drop off their vehicles. Nothing during the CarAdvise scheduling process indicated that I would be expected to leave my car for hours after making a scheduled appointment. If that is your expectation, it should be clearly communicated before customers book a time slot. After thinking about it for a few minutes, I left and drove down the road to Valvoline on Statesville Road near Gilead. They took my vehicle immediately, completed the same services, and I didn’t even need an appointment. This was my first experience with Mavis Tires & Brakes, and it will also be my last. Appointments should have value, customers deserve communication, and basic customer service starts with having someone available to greet the people walking through your front door.
