I first came here shortly after they opened for business. At the time, they were unable to service my Volvo because they did not have the necessary tools to perform the oil change, so I opted to have an inspection completed instead. After that, I continued bringing my vehicles here for inspections until my most recent experience. My vehicle was failed by the lead inspector, Cristian. When I asked why, he told me that I needed new brakes. I found that questionable because my mechanic had inspected the brakes approximately six months earlier and said they were fine, and the vehicle is not driven very often. Cristian also claimed there was an issue with the vehicle shifting. There had previously been a broken plastic piece near the gearshift that could make it difficult to shift if the plastic piece got stuck, but once that piece was removed, the vehicle shifted normally without any problems. So it wasn't a mechanical problem. A week later, I took the vehicle to another inspection station, and it passed. The other inspectors did not identify any of the issues Cristian claimed to have found. I also noticed that Cristian wrote “shifter” on the inspection paperwork but failed the vehicle under the steering mechanism category, as shown in the attached screenshot. A shifting issue does not appear to correspond with the steering mechanism, so I am unsure why the vehicle was failed under that category. There may be additional information I am not aware of, but based on my experience and the fact that the vehicle passed inspection elsewhere shortly afterward, I question the accuracy of the original inspection. Anywho, Valvoline opened up down the street from this location that may be my new location for the service of my vehicle

Ok, July 4th weekend, gotta do the whole families NC state inspections, and hoping to avoid spending the whole day doing it. Rolled into Strickland Brothers in downtown Clayton on a whim, and service was fantastic. Lawrence and Michael are super friendly and efficient--we rolled all of our cars through and were out the door in less than 20 minutes, total. Thanks guys!

Imagine saying “Good morning” but having to remind a worker that it’s ok to be cordial. And his response is “I don’t know you.” This happened early this morning to me, I was the only customer there. The worker also was smoking in an undesignated area walking into his work space and flicked his cigarette butt on the ground in front of the 1st car bay near the enclosed shop. Jermaine is a wonderful manager, a consummate professional. I have been going to this location before it was Strickland Brothers and have stayed as a loyal customer because of the generally hospitable temperament of the wonderful workers there. I have never had any problems before. I had to remind the rude worker that it is his paying customers who help to keep him employed. He was too comfortable being nasty and that is unacceptable. Any other time, I would give Strickland Brothers a 5 star review. Have a good morning everyone!

Really appreciate your late hours and your most useful and efficient AI Phone Service. I was greeted with professionalism, warmth and friendliness by your employee Damon Morris (Hood). He inquired of my needs and directed me to inside seating. When my vehicle inspection was complete Mr. Damon M Hood checked me out quick and efficiently, handed me a receipt and thanked me for choosing Strickland Brothers and hoped to see me again. Like a gentleman, he then escorted me to my vehicle. I will return and refer my friends, family and neighbors.

Honestly, the worst experience I have ever had. I came with my fiancé to get an oil change, and Damon and some guy who said he was the manager asked me what I needed help with. I said an oil change. He asked, "Have you ever been here before?" I said, "It's been a minute, but yes, this vehicle has been here." He proceeded to call me a liar and said, "That's not his 'sticker'," and asked me to pull in. At this point, I still drove into the bay because everybody has a bad day, but then he proceeded to ask me the mileage on my vehicle. I started to explain that the odometer was reset to zero, so I have to add whatever "new" mileage is plus the old, which is located on a certified sticker on my car. This vehicle had a recall that forced the actual dealership to replace the dashboard, which reset the mileage. This man proceeded to scream at me, saying I'm wrong and that since I know everything, I can do the oil change myself. He's been doing this for 11 plus years, and he doesn't need me telling him how to look at the mileage. A gentleman named Damon was standing there, and when I asked him for the name of the guy who went off, he proceeded to tell me I don't need his name and we should keep rolling. So if you want to save your time, don't come here.
