  "Do not purchase a car from this dealership"! I purchased a car from Matthews Motors on 23 Feb 2026. I have been trying since then to get a copy of the vehicle title forwarded to the Maryland DMV. As of today 25 June 2026, DMV has not received it. My car was stolen on 9 April 2026, on that same day, I informed my insurance provider, and I called Matthews motors to inform them and to check on the status of my title. My insurance provider will not pay my claim until they get a copy of the title. I have called and spoken to a minimum of 5 dealership employees to include one manager. The manager told me on 20 May 2026, that the title had been picked up by FEDX, but that he did not have a tracking number. The manager did assure me that he would keep me informed on its status. I have not heard from him since. I am having to pay on a $53,000.00 car that I no longer have, nor can I get paid a claim from my insurance provider because Matthews motors have not followed the law by providing me a copy of the title within 20 - 30 days of purchase. I gave them one star because you cannot post without giving at least one star!

  My experience with Clayton motors was horrible! Very unprofessional!! Kim was rude and not very helpful. Do not recommend at all. There are other car dealerships who are more professional and will gladly help!

  I've purchased two vehicles from them and I wish I had learned from my first experience. I won't go into the first vehicle as that was about 8 years ago. Last year, I bought a 2018 Chevy 1500 LT with 40kish miles from them and trusted their 120? Point inspection, so, admittedly, I didn't do my own due diligence. I trusted their process. I changed the brakes after a month of owning my truck, and the rear pads were only about 1/8 thick. (I still have them if you'd like to see them). The frame also has severe rust. Two weeks ago I spent $800 on a new water pump and the engine blew yesterday. I called yesterday morning to see if I had any warranty and they still haven't called me back. (I checked, and I don't) I also paid for a ceramic paint coating and never heard a single thing from them. Obviously, the water pump and engine are what they are, but the frame, the brakes, the no return call, no ceramic coating are inexcusable.

  I am usually skeptical when it comes to online reviews, and I dread having to deal with “used car salesmen”, but with the experience I had with Eric and Matthew’s Motors, I feel that it should be shared so that it can help consumers that are in the market for a vehicle. During my whole experience with my salesman Eric, he was never pushy or overbearing. I never felt pressured or that he was trying to sell me something that I didn’t ask for. He communicated in a professional manner that was refreshing and actually pleasant to deal with. In my experience, most salesmen can be pushy, make up facts and communicate way to much. The whole process was seamless and fast. From the moment I walked on the lot, until the moment I walked away with the keys, all of the staff were friendly and down to earth. Again, this threw me for loop due to my past experiences with dealerships ( no offense to all you pushy used car salesman out there ). Not only would I recommend Matthews Motors to anyone needing a reliable car, but we WILL be going back to get my son his first vehicle in a few months. I can’t recommend them enough and NO, I was not asked to write a positive review. Believe me, I have left some super negative reviews about business that deserved them. This dealership, especially Eric, deserve more than 5 stars. They exceeded my expectations and I would recommend them 100%. And BTW, I love my Golf R that they sold me. It was clean and mechanically as perfect as it could be for a used vehicle. I was in the market for this vehicle for quite some time and they made it happen. Eric, if you’re reading this, you have one very happy and satisfied customer. Thank you!!!!
