Enterprise provided my family and I with a 2025 Dodge Durango. It was the perfect size car and worked well for our needs. However, there was an issue with the brakes. When the brake rotors heated up, the car shimmied quite noticeably. It was especially bad when we headed east out of Asheville on I-40. There’s a 6 mile long descent on eastbound I-40. About halfway down that grade I started down shifting to avoid using the brakes as much because the vehicle was vibrating so much whenever I would step on the brake pedal. I did report this to the agent when I return the car. I really appreciated the discount he credited me on the rental contract because of the mechanical issue. I was not expecting that. On a positive note, I really liked pick up process at the Charolette airport. I pre-checked in online and was able to walk straight to the car without waiting in any lines. It was great!

I am writing to share a very disappointing experience I had at the SouthPark Enterprise branch in Charlotte, North Carolina. I arrived to pick up the vehicle I had reserved, only to be told that the branch did not have the car I had specifically requested. I asked why no one had called me in advance to let me know the vehicle was unavailable so I could make other arrangements. The employee simply responded, "Sorry." I replied that "sorry only gets you so far" because a simple phone call could have saved me a wasted trip and significant frustration. Instead of attempting to resolve the situation, the employee told me that I had disrespected him and instructed me to leave the branch. I immediately contacted Enterprise Customer Service, and the representative directed me to the Charlotte airport location, assuring me they would have a vehicle available. The experience at the airport could not have been more different. Devin was outstanding. He immediately apologized for what had happened and told me that the way I was treated at the SouthPark branch should never have occurred. He was professional, courteous, and quickly got me into a vehicle. Devin turned what had been a very frustrating experience into a positive one and is a great representative of the Enterprise brand. I believe the SouthPark branch needs to review its customer service standards, particularly around proactively notifying customers when reserved vehicles are unavailable and handling customer concerns professionally. I would appreciate knowing what steps Enterprise plans to take regarding this incident. Thank you for your time and attention. I look forward to your response.

I had 2 reservations for rentals at Charlotte airport. I was unable to cancel one, it wouldn't come up when I tried to cancel it. When I picked up the vehicle at Charlette, the agent unfortunately brought up the wrong one. I didn't noticed it until I had walked away from the desk. I returned and in a very condescending manner, he assured me there would be no problem with the paperwork even though I was returning the vehicle to another location. The other reservation was returning to Charlotte airport. When I went to get the vehicle, I mentioned to the lady what had transpired and expressed my concern that the paperwork was for the wrong reservation, she explained that if didn't have the correct reservation I would be charged much more for the rental. She voided the first contract and issued the correct one. She was very helpful and understanding. Upon returning the vehicle at the Asheville airport the manager was very courteous and helpful, the epitome of what most of my experiences have been with Enterprise. The male agent at Charlotte airport needs some customer service training. I only wish I had his name...no name tag.

Check in: 3/5 - The tablet that the representative at the counter was using while I was checking in died (low battery) so I had to wait longer than usual as she gets a functioning one. While she was doing so, 3 customers who were originally behind me had successfully gotten their contracts signed already. However, I’ll give that little inconvenience a pass since the representative was very apologetic and courteous. Car: 3/5 Booked a Mid-size SUV but was given a Compact SUV. I was actually quite surprised with the set up as other Enterprise airports let you choose your car based on what class you booked. Also, the steering wheel, light switches, and gear selectors were sticky. Return: 5/5 I didn’t realize I forgot my phone in the car until I was already checking in my bag in the airport. I immediately walked back and as I was walking back, an Enterprise employee approached me and asked if I forgot my phone. He escorted me to their booth where they were securing my phone. I guess, shout out to Adam!

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at the Charlotte Enterprise location regarding items I left in my rental vehicle. This situation has been handled poorly from the beginning, and the lack of accountability has left me with little confidence in the company. I returned my rental vehicle on June 22 at approximately 9:30 PM. After leaving the location, I realized I had accidentally left several personal items inside the vehicle. These were not ordinary belongings. They were customized DTF (Direct-to-Film) print transfers, professionally designed and prepared for customers. These prints were complete and only required pressing onto shirts before delivery. They represented hours of work, custom artwork, and potential income from customer orders. Because they were one-of-a-kind, they cannot simply be replaced by purchasing another item from a store. As soon as I realized my mistake, I immediately reported the missing items. My report was submitted around 11:00 PM on June 22, only about an hour and a half after returning the vehicle. The vehicle should have still been at the Enterprise location or, at the very least, not processed through enough activity for the items to disappear without explanation. The following morning, June 23, I received an email stating that my items could not be found. The speed of that response was surprising considering the circumstances. Since the report was made so quickly after the return, I expected a thorough search of the vehicle before anyone else had access to it. Instead, I received a generic response indicating that nothing was located. Wanting additional clarification, I had a friend visit the Charlotte Enterprise location on my behalf. Unfortunately, that visit only raised more concerns. Initially, the employee stated they could not even locate my reservation using the reference number associated with the rental. That was confusing because the reservation number came directly from Enterprise and matched the rental agreement I received when I picked up the vehicle. Then, only about five minutes after my friend was told there was no reservation associated with my information, I received another email from Enterprise stating that my lost items could not be found. The timing of those events makes little sense. If the reservation supposedly could not be located, how was a search completed and a determination made that the items were not in the vehicle? Those conflicting responses create unnecessary doubt about whether a proper search was ever conducted. My concern is not simply that the items were missing. My concern is the lack of consistency, communication, and transparency throughout the process. The sequence of events leaves more questions than answers. A customer who reports lost property within such a short period after returning a rental vehicle deserves confidence that every reasonable effort was made to recover those belongings. These customized DTF transfers carried both financial and personal value. They represented customer orders, time invested in creating the designs, and business opportunities. Losing them has caused inconvenience, potential financial loss, and disappointment that could have been avoided with a more thorough and organized lost-and-found process. I expected better from a company with Enterprise’s reputation. Instead, I was left with inconsistent information, unanswered questions, and no resolution. I hope Enterprise reviews how lost property claims are handled, improves communication between employees and customers, and strengthens its procedures to ensure situations like this are taken seriously. Customers should be able to trust that when property is reported shortly after a rental is returned, every reasonable effort will be made to locate and safeguard those belongings.
