My experience with Enterprise was not good at all… We traveled to NYC to visit my Dad who is in the hospital, ( not a vacation), the next day while heading to see my Dad the hood of vehicle popped open and slammed into the windshield, glass shattered, but thank god no one was hurt, but our son was traumatized from this, who is autistic..You would think we would get cooperation in this matter as Enterprise thrives on accommodating there customers, roadside assistance was suppose to pick up vehicle and take us to the nearest enterprise, that didn’t happen, we had to drive there, and when we arrived we were told there’s nothing we can do for you as our cars will not accommodate your family, we were told to go to LaGuardia Airport, mind you this was the day we were on our way to visit my Dad in the hospital, in order to get to the airport we had to put in another request for car and tow service, which never showed up, and to request again, at this point it was close to the end of the day. Car service finally arrived and drove us to airport which was almost and hour away, when arrived we explained to customer service what happened to vehicle provided them the documentation of rental agreement, it was confirmed but told us in order to do an exchange enterprise has to confirm car that was towed first before any vehicle transfers. We waiting almost two hrs, and was provided another vehicle, My day was wasted and visiting hours were over…Moving to when our family is track on home on the highway the engine was flashing on/off, and we observed smoke, we had to pull off on the side of the road as there millions of trucks driving fast, when we realized that the reason for the smoke had to do with a misfire, and that fluid can leak into the converter.. Now this another serious issue with Enterprise vehicles.. We had to drive to the nearest service road, we were stationed at a closed gas station at 1am in the middle of no where, no residential area, and it was pitch black with no where to go, and not to mention our autistic son in the back sit hysterical, and scared..Called roadside assistance, reported the issue they said no problem will send a care service(Uber) for you and have to car towed, and you will be driven to another enterprise to get an exchange. That never happened and my family and I had to sleep in the car on a dark street, with no sign of assistance, scared, uncertain, angry, unsatisfied… It wasn’t until 10am a police car drove by and asked what was going on, we explained, and he couldn’t get us to the enterprise, did I say we’re traveling back home, so all our luggage is with us in this vehicle which is not drivable because it isn’t safe. Called roadside assistance again and was told the towing service will be there within two hours and they will try to send a car service, which did arrive until 11:43 am… This was a horrible and scary experience, roadside assistance was called frequently throughout the night when my family was stranded with no where to go and each customer representative I spoke with said they couldn’t arrange for an exchange we had to call the enterprise we originally rented our vehicle from which was 6 hours from where my family was stranded at. There were so much inconsistencies, so much back n forth and my family and I are suffering living thru this drama..
We finally got another exchange and arrived home the next morning safe..
But will not deal with enterprise again as a paying customer, lost two days of work, and our family was traumatized by this experience.. Enterprise you gotta do better!!!
