  A special shout out to Jacob at the Charlotte Airport Alamo / National customer management team. As I worked my way through the Skip the counter process, Jacob helped walk me through each step and then walked the isle to find the perfect car for my travels. One person’s kindness, patience and going above and beyond is what makes a difference and sets the tone for the rest of the trip. THANK YOU JACOB.

  A very pleasant and smooth experience at the Charlotte airport. That being said, I will say that I thought the deposit requirements were a bit excessive and not normal in the rental car industry. In addition to the vehicle, be a prepaid rental I was also required to put a $400 deposit on my American Express, which is excessive by all industry standards.

  The last-minute price that I got for my rental vehicle at Alamo was very reasonable. But picking up the car at the Charlotte North Carolina airport was completely unacceptable. Waited more than an hour and a half in the Alamo rental line just to get the paperwork to pick up a car. If the car hadn’t already been paid for in advance, I would’ve moved over to another company’s counter. That being said, once I got to the counter the employees did a wonderful job and were very friendly. The car we got was good and the return was easy. But I would rethink renting. From Alamo in the future just because of the wait time we had getting the car. An hour and a half is just a little too long

  Pick up went great, car was fine. Easy to deal with and didn't feel pressured to purchase additional coverage and up sells at checkout. However, they have a terrible drop off change policy. My rental for the week was about $370. Our flight was canceled out of charlotte NC and the only other route to get us home that weekend was through Atlanta. We were about 2 hours from charlotte and had limited time to make our rescheduled flight. Im fine with a charge to change but we were charged $550 to switch locations. I would've thought around $100-$200 would've been acceptable and understandable. But $550? And no willingness to budge? Definitely a bit too high. And checking at closer locations like greenville, it was still $550 and was told thats the change fee no matter where its dropped off outside of original location. A bit steep. Would love to see a more understandable fee if the future.

  I have only positive feedback for Alamo. Reserving a car was a breeze, and compared to other rental companies, Alamo was competitively priced. They are located right in the airport (Charlotte). There was a bit of line, however, if you do the online check in, you can skip that and go straight to picking out your car. I love that a specific car was not selected for me and I was able to pick the one that I wanted according to the size reserved. The car was clean and had low mileage. The few people that I had to interact with were courteous and professional. Returning was also easy. Signage for the return was easy to follow, I pulled up, handed the keys to an attendant and I was on my way. I would definitely use them again.
