I had an incredibly frustrating experience at this Pilot Travel Center today. I pulled up to an empty pump and tried to insert my card, but the screen said "prepaid." Having never encountered that before, I began pumping, intending to go inside and settle the bill once I was finished. At about $13, the pump abruptly shut off and an employee approached me. From the second she started speaking, she was incredibly tense, immediately making me feel like I was trying to steal gas. When I explained that the spot was empty and I had tried to use my card, I was met with a lecture about how I shouldn't have started pumping because it said "prepaid." I was told to come inside to pay the $13, which I did, though I was admittedly terse because of the "thief" vibe I was being given. While the cashier apologized, the damage was already done. The most ridiculous part? I was planning on doing a full fill-up and grabbing about $10 in snacks. Because of the way I was treated, Pilot lost out on a $60+ sale. I ended up going down the road to a different station where I spent that money instead. Advice to management: Train your employees on basic customer service and tone. A simple, "I'm sorry, there seems to be a mistake; another customer gave us the wrong number and this was prepaid—would you mind coming in so we can get this straightened out?" would have gone a long way. Instead, you lost a customer for life, and I’ll be sure to share this experience with everyone I know. I won't be back.

We stop at this Pilot Travel Center regularly when traveling to visit family, and it has consistently been a convenient and reliable place to take a break. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, which makes each visit pleasant. The attached Wendy’s is also a great option for grabbing a quick meal or snack before getting back on the road. The accommodations and restrooms are usually clean, and it’s a comfortable stop for everyone in the car to stretch, grab drinks, and recharge during a long drive. While the building does show some general wear and tear and could benefit from updates and modernization, the overall experience has remained positive thanks to the helpful employees and dependable service. We appreciate having this location as a regular stopping point during our travels and will continue to visit on future trips.
