This is the 4th of these type of locations (Autozone and o’reiley) that I went to in the last 2 days, so I extremely appreciate her replacing my battery, after other places claimed they could not replace it because it was “good”. This is the ONLY one that offered to check my alternator and battery when I asked. Turns out the battery was not ok as I thought, considering the car smelled like sulfur and would not start in the last 2 days twice. Also very quick and she got me a warranty.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
