I like Ray. Ray trout. Hell remember me. Apparently he cant check a prius hybrid battery. "The car will let you know when the battery is bad." "The tech who did that is out today." Implied: I cant verify the hybrid prius' condition (the most crucial part).
Obviously the car will say; but what if its a week after I buy? He pulled a random tech out to tell me the battery with no check was good. Probably a random oil change dude.
2015 prius. Used all the basic salesman lines. Even told him ive been burned before by salesman. Even said I was a SALESMAN myself. He didnt care. Isnt this a Toyota Dealership? You cant check a prius battery for health? Yes you can.
Used his 23 years of experience as proof of honesty. Thats not proof of honesty ray. Its worse. Its proof youre selling; and not always with honesty.
Wouldnt give me any inspection paperwork beyond carfax. Id buy a new car from this dealership but an older, used car is out of the question here. Please be smart before visiting. Know everything about vehicle and bait them with what you already know to test them.
Even told the guy "im not a car guy". He fell for it. Very unforunate. Hes an old school salesman. Will be helpful if youre buying but wont be if you want a more in depth look. Luckily ive worked very closely with someone like Ray so I knew what to look for.
Hopefully someone there reads this and has a talk with ray about honesty, but whats more important in sales, and at a dealership—honesty, or sales? He wont be talked to by management; hes doing well for them off the ill-informed. I mean its been 23 years.
Also, he let me know itll sell before I left. Yes Ray, itll sell. Because not everyone watches the salesman like a hawk or is as informed as I was. It's sad, it may have even been a decent car, but you sent up multiple red flags for me and my partner (who is more trusting then I am.)
Multiple red flags between us was enough for me to tell you ill pass. I hope its enough for others.

We just got our brand new Sienna with Ryan. He made it incredibly easy. I was all ready to get into the negotiations and work to get the best deal, and it was honestly almost too easy. No negotiating. No haggling. We were able to order the car exactly the way we wanted it and it was here within a few weeks. The warranty package is great and just a day in we couldn't be happier with how the whole process played out. PLUS, we were super excited to work with a business that has stayed in the city! Couldn't recommend Ackerman enough and Ryan as a sales guy.

I went in today to see if I could test drive a RAV4. I was told by a man sitting at a desk that it's 3 to 4 months wait for them. I asked if I could test drive one. He said they only have two and they are both sold so no I could not drive one. I was not greeted, I was not asked if I wanted to look at something else, etc. It just seemed like the dealership is doing very well and they're happy with all the business they have. I was there for about 12 seconds and I will not be back.

It has been one month since I bought my 2026 Signia from Ackerman. Tyler Baker was a great salesman to work with and offered a very reasonable deal. They also gave me top dollar for my trade in. Mike in Finance was my best experience with 'the finance guy' I have had. I have two other Toyota dealers who are closer to me and I am happy to pass them by to to come here. I certainly hope the service department for my oil changes at Ackerman translates into a top service experience similar to Tyler and Mike. Thanks.
