  We really appreciated the service we got from Alamo. Their just a little difficult to find. They are in the same area as Enterprise, with a small Alamo sign back in the corner. I prepaid for a fill tank of gas, the day we picked up the vehicle. But, filled the tank up the day before we left. Left the receipt with our keys in the box.

  If I could have left less than a star I would have the young man manager behind the counter was rude unprofessional and unwilling to help.

  Everything about our Alamo rental was excellent—except the after-hours return, which lowered my rating from five stars to four. The signage at the Springfield-Branson National Airport is inadequate or missing, making it unclear where to park, where to enter the terminal, and where to return the keys. I understand that Alamo may not control all airport signage, but the after-hours instructions need to be much clearer. If you are returning an Alamo vehicle after business hours: 1. Drive into the rental-car return area near the airport entrance. 2. Park as close as possible to what appears to be the Alamo parking area. There did not seem to be clearly designated spaces. 3. Lock the vehicle and take the keys with you—do not leave them in the car. 4. Enter through the airport door closest to the rental-car parking lot. Do not walk around to the side of the building. 5. Once inside, turn left and go to the rental-car counter. 6. Place only the keys in the Alamo drop box; the instructions say not to include any paperwork. 7. Pull the drop-box drawer open again to confirm that the keys were deposited securely. That is all you need to do. The instructions in the car also told us to record the mileage, but there was nowhere to submit it, so that direction should be removed or clarified. Alamo and the airport should add signs showing where Alamo vehicles should be parked and which terminal entrance customers should use. The lack of direction caused significant stress while we were trying to catch our flight. After spending nearly $500 on the rental, we worried about leaving the vehicle or keys in the wrong place, the car possibly being stolen, or having to choose between resolving the return and missing our flight. Aside from the return process, this was a five-star experience. The car was very clean, ran perfectly, and gave us no problems at all. With clearer after-hours instructions and better signage, I would gladly give Alamo five stars.
