This is the first visit at this store 9901 Watson rd and we will be back the car was done just about 1 hour. And the shop was at Midas on Watson. While I was steadying myself for more of the same I instead encountered the opposite. I had the good fortune of working with Nicole who has vast knowledge of this space. She quickly confirmed what I needed, a large battery for a Promaster, and maintained a positive energy throughout our engagement before sending me on my way. Nicole is a tremendous asset for this business!

HOW DO BRAKES WORK?

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
