- RWR WJul 25, 20261.0QuikTrip this is not. I don't know why QuikTrip abandoned the Springfield area because Kum & Go and Maverick have been complete failures, with Maverick being the worst. They spent all their money on the big sign out front and nothing on labor to help inside. If it's a busy time of day you can guarantee you're going to be 6-12 deep waiting for somebody to check you out. Today the self-checkout was broken and there was only one person (manager) at the register because the other one was on lunch break. That tells me you have two people scheduled on a Saturday that can work the registers, which is ridiculous. There was somebody in the kitchen, but I guess Maverick doesn't believe in cross-training employees so they can work the kitchen and step in behind the register when needed. God forbid we be efficient and make sure the customer is taken care of first. Why hasn't Maverick taken a lesson from QuikTrip and taught their cashiers how to use two cashiers at the same time. You double your efficiency. This is just common sense in business. Thankfully we have a Shell with a bigger, more accommodating parking lot across the street.
