I purchased a vehicle from Jim Trenary yesterday evening, and unfortunately, what was supposed to be a positive experience quickly turned into a very stressful and frightening situation.
On my way home from the dealership, the tire on the vehicle exploded while I was driving on the highway. I had a child in the vehicle with me, and the situation nearly caused a serious accident. I immediately contacted a tow company, had the vehicle removed, and a donut tire was placed on it.
Considering I had literally just purchased this vehicle from the dealership, I expected the situation to be taken very seriously and handled with urgency. The next morning, I returned to the dealership and spoke with the manager. I explained that the vehicle was purchased as an anniversary gift and that I needed to leave by a certain time because I had to deliver the vehicle.
I was assured that my vehicle would be made a priority. I arrived around 8:00 a.m., and by 2:31 p.m., the tire issue still had not been resolved. To make matters worse, the dealership had gotten the wrong tire for the vehicle, which caused even more unnecessary delay. I spent hours waiting, and no one came to provide me with updates. I had to repeatedly go inside and inquire about the status of my vehicle myself.
What concerns me most is the safety aspect. The vehicle experienced a serious tire failure almost immediately after I drove it off the dealership lot. This leaves me questioning whether the vehicle was properly inspected and whether it was actually safe and ready to be sold and driven. I understand that unexpected mechanical issues can happen, but when something this serious occurs immediately after a purchase, I believe the dealership should take immediate responsibility for addressing the situation and reassuring the customer.
I also made it clear multiple times that I had a specific deadline because this vehicle was an anniversary gift. I do not feel that I was treated as a priority, despite being told that I would be. The tire failure and TPM sensor issue were not caused by me, and I should not have had to spend essentially my entire day at the dealership trying to get an issue resolved on a vehicle I had just purchased.
I also believe there should have been some type of sincere apology and consideration for compensation or goodwill because of what happened. A tire exploding on the highway with a child in the vehicle is not a minor inconvenience. It was a frightening and potentially dangerous situation that could have ended very differently. Then, after the incident, I lost an entire day waiting for the dealership to correct the problem, only to find out that the wrong tire had been ordered.
At the very least, I expected someone to acknowledge the seriousness of the situation, apologize for what happened, keep me informed, and make a genuine effort to make things right. Instead, I felt like I had to chase down information throughout the day.
I am extremely disappointed with how this situation was handled. I expected better customer service, communication, accountability, and concern for my safety and my time. When someone purchases a vehicle from your dealership and experiences a potentially dangerous failure almost immediately after leaving the lot, that customer should feel supported—not forgotten.
I sincerely hope Jim Trenary reviews what happened, looks closely at the inspection process for this vehicle, and understands that customer service does not end once the vehicle is sold. I hope they take this experience seriously and make improvements so another customer does not have to go through what I experienced.

I really appreciated the experience I had at Jim Trenary Chevrolet. The mechanic work was done right, but what stood out most was how much extra effort was put into helping us. I was there with my kid, who became really interested in what was being worked on, and he took the time to show him what he was doing and explain things in a way he could understand. That meant a lot because he didn’t have to take the extra time, but he went above and beyond to make it a good experience.
Brendan Baan was incredibly helpful, professional, and clearly takes pride in his work. It’s great to see someone who not only does quality work but is willing to go the extra mile and share his knowledge with the next generation. I really appreciate everything Brendan did for us and would absolutely recommend him!

I had a great experience working with Eric Throckmorton at Jim Trenary Chevrolet. Eric was extremely helpful, patient, genuine, and caring throughout the entire process. He took the time to understand my situation and worked with me to make sure I received the best deal possible on my 2026 Equinox.
I never felt pressured or rushed, and I truly felt like Eric was looking out for my best interests rather than simply trying to make a sale. His honesty, understanding, and willingness to work with me made a big difference and made the entire experience smooth and comfortable.
I really appreciate Eric’s professionalism and the way he genuinely cared about helping me. I would highly recommend Eric to anyone looking for someone who is trustworthy, knowledgeable, and truly committed to taking care of his customers!
The best car buying experience I’ve ever had.
Bought a 2023 Silverado from them. It immediately had issues with the infotainment system. They had it for a total of 2.5 weeks. I had to go to management for a loaner. Then they give me a note from Chevy saying that engineering knows it’s (the problem) an issue and to stay patient. I have this in writing. I end up trading in the truck because the infotainment system would just shut down and not work. Now I ask for a refund for my extended warranty and was told it would take 6-8 weeks to get it. That time has come and gone. This place is typical. Make a sale, then never help the customer again. I’m sure they have good vehicles, but their customer service is less than par.

Called about an ad I saw on Facebook for 0% financing for 72 months on all remaining 2026 Chevy 1500s. The salesman was not aware of deal so he said he would call back. Finally got an answer 3 hours later. The deal can only be used if you pay msrp, which makes no sense since it then adds almost 15k to the truck I was looking at. I then commented on the Facebook post that had the ad telling my experience and how the ad was missing information. The dealership blocked me from their Facebook page and removed my comment. I would not do business with this dealership. Obviously they are unaware of current deals they are advertising and based on them removing my comment and blocking me shows they are probably doing shady things and trying to screw people.
