  The staff was very friendly, explained things clearly and answered all my questions. I got a full-synthetic oil change and my tires rotated. The location off of Barry Road in North KC has been a great location since it opened. The men and women working there are always polite and friendly and respond to my needs and questions as promptly as possible.

  Let me start off by giving a quick summary, DO NOT GO TO VALVOLINE! I can't make this anymore clear. They will screw up your car. Now let me tell you about my service with them. I took my new car to Valvoline. I haven't even had this car for like three months and I never got an oil change in it until now. Ussally I would take my old car to Goodyear off of Barry Road (which I highly recommend.) But I needed an oil change now and Goodyear was booked out. And regardless of the many many bad reviews of Valvoline I have seen. I just thought it's a one time visit. It can't be bad right? I was heavily mistaken which cost me my car. I get to the place and they advertise quick oil changes and trust right? I was waiting in that line for an hour to get my car back in the bay. Which whatever right busy days happen. But I was already kind of disappointed. I finally get my car into the bay and they perform the oil change. Of course they try to sell me on new batteries and whatnot. Which I only came for the oil change so I declined. As they where getting close to completing. Then they come up to me. They stated that the drain plug and pan where stripped and they tried to delfect the blame on to the previous owner of the vehicle. Keep in mind I know this is a cover up lie as I have all of the previous car reports and repairs that have been made throughout its life. Also another side not this car only has 106k miles on it so it's not a old old car. They tell me that I need to take it too a auto shop to get it fixed and in the meantime that as long as I keep adding oil it should be "okay" to drive. So they finish up trying to jam in a stripped plug on a striped pan and then they still charge me for oil that will be drained out. I get my invoice and they put nothing in the comments notes about the situation that has happened. So Im driving off and all the auto shops are booked out for at least a week or so. So I park my car and buy oil for it in the meantime. If I needed to drive it I would check the oil and add it to maintain it. Which was a heavy leak. As I was driving to get my pan fixed (the one they destroyed) my head gasket blows. KEEP IN MIND that the car was perfectly fine before I took it too Valvoline. Now I'm jumping through hoops with their Customer Service to get them to look and inspect my car. I'm already to take this up to court if this isn't resolved quickly. So tldr, Valvoline destroyed my new car I haven't had for more than over 5 months at its first visit. And I simply cannot recommend you stay far from this place at all times. It's worth it to make an appointment with a auto shop or change your oil by hand. As a simple oil change from them can lead to you out of a car and fighting loopholes to hope to find a solution. Also update: it's been 4 days talking back and forth with the customer service and they are telling me the same thing without taking any action. HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL! They tell me they will take a look at the car without ever sending someone out. Get it together.

  Bryan and Tony were amazing and would recommend this particular Valvoline to anyone. Their energy is infectious and you can tell they enjoy what they do. Can’t express how great they were enough.

  Update: I called today to be told the case was already closed, I was never called or even able to give my pictures/side of the story because it all go through the manager at the store and that's absolutely unacceptable I will not let this slide and it will be dealt with! Previous:never trust this Valvoline Instant Oil Change! And by looking at the reviews it looks like this isn't the first time they've broken/damaged something and not want to take responsibility! ​I have a hydraulic hood that naturally settles slightly after opening. The technician grabbed it and tried to open it up higher, snapping the hood. He apologized, we discussed what happened he agreed. I wasn’t even mad until the manager stepped in. ​The manager looked at the camera footage for maybe two and a half seconds, refused to listen, and claimed it was already broken because "it’s an old car." Furious, I let them finish so I could get out of there. When I pulled out to inspect the damage, I found the bottom of my windshield was also cracked where the hood had snapped. I walked right back up to the manager, and without hesitation or basic decency, he just said, "Nope, that was also already broken." ​Thankfully their cameras caught it all. I’ve filed a police report and contacted both my insurance and theirs. Complete lack of accountability avoid this place!
