Reserved a vehicle via the app over the weekend, intending to arrive at 0730 Monday. However, the manager informed us that we could only rent a one-way vehicle with a credit card due to the office’s location in a high-risk area. We were surprised by this decision, as we had successfully rented an enterprise vehicle with an in-state license and a debit card in Texas just the day before. Upon leaving, we contacted the customer service line, which informed us that the information was incorrect. Enterprise does allow one-way rentals with a local in-state driver’s license or ID, and a debit card can be used. We made an additional reservation through the Enterprise customer service at the Grand Avenue location, where no vehicles were available upon our arrival. Finally, around 5 pm, we called the customer service phone line again and spoke to an agent who confirmed that a temporary local license is accepted at Enterprise locations and that a debit card can be used. The agent also assured us that vehicles were available at the Main Street location and confirmed that we could pick up our vehicle at 6 pm, which is the time the store closes. However, we needed to arrive as soon as possible. We rushed back to the Main Street location, where I explained the information we received from customer service. After obtaining a local driver’s license, the manager still refused to accommodate our request, insisting that we listen to the branch staff rather than the customer service line. I offered additional accommodations, advising that I was willing to pay more towards the deposit via my debit card, as that was the only payment method available at the time. I also explained that I am a valued Enterprise member with a local account, which the manager could verify. I have rented vehicles multiple times before, attempting to demonstrate my trustworthiness and reliability. Despite my efforts, the manager remained uncooperative. While I understand the business’s operations, the lack of clear communication between customer service and different locations, each with its own set of rules, creates a frustrating and time-consuming experience for consumers, especially in emergencies.

There are no actual cars here. They bombard you with texts about checking in ahead of time and furnishing your details, which I did. But I suspect it’s a ruse to acquire personal information that can be sold to data brokers because they don’t have cars for rent. It’s in a sketchy neighborhood, so I imagine overhead is low and it makes this worth it til they get shut down and move elsewhere. I notified the Missouri State Attorney General’s office.

This is a poorly ran Enterprise location - the staff members are not good at communication and are often unprofessional. The cars are not well maintained and twice I've gotten a car there that smelled like smoke. I would not recommend this location for car rental. Try another location.
