- LPLee PinetJun 15, 20261.0I been a loyal customer for years and needed an IMRC assembly put in my 17 Rogue. The estimate was 1650.00. I went to Atlas Auto down the Rd, also with GREAT REVIEWS, and they bought the exact same assembly at the exact same place along with a 24 months past and labor warranty for 1005.00 dollars. When I called and asked Jim Lewis for a itemized bill to see where the rest of the money was going John just pulled it up on the computer and told me what they decided to charge me rather than giving me an email if the estimate; SHADY stuff going on there. When a person has a major repair, an itemized estimate should be the standard. Do not go to Jim Lewis, or absolutely demand an itemized estimate and get more than 1, because they WILL BE THE HIGHEST! Mine was 600 dollars. We're not talking 1 , or 2 hundred, but 600 HUNDRED dollars. He told me, I can't buy a part like you can at the store, but ATLAS bought it at the same place, so that was a lie. The lies are going to be the end of Jim Lewis's reputation. You might make money from ripping people off for a while, but it always comes back to bite you. I have no idea what's changed; used to not be that way.

While the methods vary greatly these days, one can and should be able to give a price over the phone by just asking what vehicle you want to bring in. Not John, though. He immediately asked me to just bring in the car, didn't bother asking anything else. Not trusting my car to someone who can't think to use google or ask the mechanics or service advisors. Hard pass.
