I had the unique opportunity to assist my adult daughter in purchasing a vehicle. My husband and I have purchased numerous vehicles from Enterprise Car Sales before and have been satisfied with our experiences. (Shout out to Enterprise St. Charles Car Sales!) My daughter also decided to look at what Enterprise had to offer. She had done her research through their online sales website and was already familiar with the vehicles that were currently available. She was aware that any of the vehicles that she was looking at could potentially be sold before she had a chance to look at them, so she had four vehicles in mind before we went to the Hazelwood office.
We arrived a few minutes before our appointment with our salesman, RJ. They were pretty busy that day as it appeared that business was booming. RJ did not keep us waiting for long and before we knew it, we were in his office and beginning the process of looking for a vehicle. Many of the other employees greeted us, and asked us if we wanted a drink or a snack. This type of small chit-chat interaction and check-in occurred throughout our stay at the business.
My daughter ended up test driving five vehicles that day. RJ had been e-mailed her list of preferred vehicles to look at, so he had them ready to go (or a very similar substitute if one of the vehicles had been sold), one after the other. He even went so far as to have a vehicle transferred in from another Enterprise facility so that my daughter could check it out.
During the time that my daughter was test driving the vehicles, RJ was very qualified to answer all questions that were presented to him. We found out that he had recently celebrated his 5-year anniversary with the company. This man very obviously loved his job and knew what he was doing. (And he had a really cute picture of he and his wife in his office!)
My daughter did decide that one of the cars was her dream car so we began the purchase process. RJ was able to navigate this seamlessly. We requested a copy of the CarFax to examine. We had questions, including some about the vehicle's tires, and its last oil change, for example. We were given information about various additional warranties that were available. RJ answered all of our questions quickly, gave us time to decide when we had to make a choice, and did not pressure us or intimidate us in any way.
One thing I would like to mention is that Enterprise has a “one-price” policy. In other words, the listed price is the price that you pay. (FYI, a handling fee is also added to the cost which covers the inspection, maintenance, transportation fees, and cleaning fees.) There is not the hassle of trying to get a better price by having the salesman go back and forth to the manager to “ask” for a better deal. Since this is not the way that a used car is usually purchased, it might seem counterproductive to a future buyer. But the asking price is a very fair price. Since Enterprise is the car's original and only owner, it keeps records of all of the car's maintenance. In other words, you know exactly what you're getting.
After 4 hours, my daughter drove out of Enterprise’s parking lot with her new vehicle. We were given a state inspection. We were informed that the remaining manufacturer’s warranty was still valid on the vehicle (up to specific mileage and/or time limits). We were given a temporary tag. The title application had been made. The car was cleaned up and sparkly before we took possession of it. She had decided to take advantage of a 5-year tire warranty. (Basically, if you have a flat tire through no fault of your own, it gets fixed or replaced for free for 5 years!) The floor mats were in place. And the gas tank was full.
Thank you to RJ for being an exemplary salesman. Much gratitude also for the special favor that he did for us. Also, thank you for his patience while we dealt with the bank.
Enterprise has a 7-day buyback policy, but my daughter will not be returning her car. She absolutely loves it and is very pleased with her Enterprise experience.
We'll be back.
