Yance and Oz were both very professional and thoughtful. Yance did a though search with in my preferred parameters for a class C motorhome. My situation was unique as I amwe form out of state.

Buying my first RV trailer should’ve been exciting. Instead, it turned into one of the most frustrating buying experiences I’ve had in a long time.
I’m completely new to the RV world. Before this, I only did a few small trips with friends, but this was my first real purchase through a dealership. I spent a lot of time researching different options around Missouri and finally decided on a Coleman Keystone 13R. The advertised price was around $10,500, and after calling multiple dealerships, Camping World in Columbia sounded like the best option.
At first glance, the place actually looks solid. Big dealership, lots of inventory outside, clean showroom, offices everywhere, waiting areas, paperwork rooms. You walk in expecting professional service.
That feeling disappears pretty fast.
Our sales rep was Brein. From the beginning, it felt like every conversation was about pushing more products instead of helping us buy the right trailer. I told him we were ready to move forward online, but he insisted we come in person. Fine. We scheduled the next morning. But after that came nonstop calls while I was working. Over and over again.
Then the numbers changed.
The trailer we discussed around $10,500 suddenly became almost $14,000 with random add-ons, fees, packages, adapters, protection plans, and things nobody clearly explained.
One example. They wanted around $700 to install trailer brake equipment on my van. Later I went to U-Haul, bought a Bluetooth brake controller for around $280, connected everything through my phone in a few minutes, and it worked perfectly.
Another example. Around $450 in “administrative fees,” but I still had to go to the DMV myself, handle registration myself, pay taxes myself, and finish paperwork myself. So what exactly was the administrative fee for?
Then came the insurance part.
We were handed a QR code and told to contact a specific insurance agent connected to them. Since this was my first RV purchase, I trusted the process. A few days later I checked other insurance companies and realized I could’ve gotten similar coverage for much cheaper.
That honestly annoyed me more than anything else.
The inspection process was disappointing too. One employee explained how important it was to carefully inspect the trailer before leaving. I appreciated that. I pointed out two things that needed to be fixed before delivery.
Nobody fixed them.
Not one person touched the trailer while we sat inside listening to more sales pitches about roadside assistance and extra coverage.
That was the moment I realized nobody here actually cared whether we left happy or not.
And honestly, details matter. You’re buying a trailer for over $13,000, sitting there for hours signing paperwork, and even the customer coffee setup feels cheap and forgotten. Small thing, maybe. But small things usually say a lot about service.
The crazy part is… I actually like the trailer itself. The RV is good. That’s what makes this experience frustrating.
I just wish the service matched the product.
Maybe other Camping World locations are better. I honestly hope they are. But based on my experience in Columbia, Missouri, I would not recommend this location to first-time RV buyers.
Read every document carefully. Compare every add-on price yourself. And don’t assume they’re automatically giving you the best option.
For me, this was a 3-star experience.

The atmosphere is like a morgue !! Have stopped in 4 times in 3 months just to order a door. 😡
1st trip
The original "short" parts specialists said he couldn't help me the unit was to old.
Camper is a 2013
2nd trip
Short parts specialist again. "Says the girl that orders parts isn't in come back later".
I live 2 hours away.
3rd trip.
Short parts guy says " The girl that orders stuff just left for the day"
It was 4:00 pm
4th trip. Monday May 4th 2026 10:00am
Short parts guy no longer works there.
New guy named Jason. Takes all information vin, make, model. Says part ordering girl is gone but will make sure she gets notes. He also Says he'll need a picture of the door.
Gives me his cell number to text picture to. I send pictures back 2hrs later...because I live 2hrs away.
1st call Wednesday May 6th. Parts please.
Parts girl knows nothing about my door.
Give her all specs. She assures me she'll call back.
2nd call Friday May 8th. No answer.
No clue how businesses with horrible customer service survive.
It must be on with one and done new sales because... no one would return willingly for a second. 😡

This place doesn't know a thing about customer service. Multiple times I've been in with no one available to help with questions or know if they have products in stock. When you finally find someone [besides the lady at the front table who asks if you need help but can NEVER actually help] they act like you are the problem not the customer. Save yourself and order on Amazon GEEZE!!

Purchased a few items that totaled over $3000 and had to wait for a part to be shipped to store. Came to pick them up today (several days after order placed) and was told he had to take the floor model. Didn't pay that much money to get a floor model without box or instructions. They stated they'd give 10% return for that issue. Just looked at my credit card and was given $93.85 back. That item was well over $1000. Crooked every which way you turn. And most ridiculous of it all.....had I ordered online and had it shipped there, would have cost $400 less. Not wasting anymore money here. Also, what are the 2 ladies job duties that sit at the desk as soon as you walk in? Never see them doing anything but talking to each other. They don't acknowledge you when you walk in or when you leave. Always with phones in hand.
