Got my car towed here after hours on a Friday since two of my tires got flat from a slow leak while parked at my place of work. They were able to look at my car on the following Monday, so I was glad that the service was as fast as I could expect it to be.
They were also able to inspect the state of one of my tie rods which I requested in the write up I left for my drop-off, the other side had broke about a year ago. They were able to confirm that it needed replacing and made the fix.
When I received a list of items to approve work on, there were several on there which were not necessary, nor did I receive any sort of justification for them over the phone when I called to check on the status. If I'm going to get up-sold I want to at least be convinced that I need stuff done so I feel good about it. I'm sure this is common practice amongst shops, but that doesn't mean I like it.
The prices seemed a bit high to me, at least compared to other shops I've been to for similar work. This surprised me a bit since this location is in a more suburban area than the Minneapolis proper shops I've been to before.
Once my car was ready, they let me know that there was some sort of sound coming from one of the tires that was replaced. They said that it was safe, but also didn't know what the sound was, so I wasn't particularly convinced. No issues so far though.
Additionally, driving it back home my car felt a bit floaty on the highway. I originally thought they maybe messed up my wheel alignment since that needed to be redone there, however I quickly realized that my tires were over pressurized since my TPMS light came on after about 20 minutes. While this is a simple mistake and easy for me to fix, the recommended tire pressure is literally printed on the inside of the door, and does not give me greater confidence in the quality of the other work that was done.
Overall, this shop seemed okay. The staff were friendly, but service seemed pricey and the location wasn't particularly fancier than other shops with more reasonable prices. I'm not a car guy, so definitely take this review with a grain of salt, but this is what I got out of my experience here. If I'm able to in the future, I will be taking my car other places.
