Had a great rental car from Alamo @ Msp airport. Hyundai Sonata hybrid that had only 1400 miles on it. Drove it 950 miles over a week and only spent $62 on gas! Easy in & out at the pickup from doing the advance check in on the app. (Even at 11:30 pm!) Upon its return we quickly dropped it off and while we waited to check our bag, my wife realized she dropped her wallet and left it in the car. (Oops!) I sprinted out to the rental garage where the staff had found it and set it aside anticipating my return. What service! I've never been more satisfied with a rental car since my last rental. Also from Alamo. Kudos!!
We had a mid-size SUV reserved at MSP airport for July 1-8, busy time of year. One of our add-on requirements is Sirius/Xm satellite radio, we’ll be driving 1000 miles, love satellite radio. Alamo didn’t have the class SUV we had reserved, so they found us a nice upgrade to a Mitsubishi Outlander, with only 760 miles on it - new!
The 2 workers at Alamo worked hard to find us the right vehicle, and we appreciated it!
From checkout to check in this was a bad experience with Alamo ata MSP terminal 2. There were only 2 agents working the counter for all 3 car rental companies under the Enterprise Holdings umbrella (Enterprise, National and Alamo) so it was 50 mintues to get through that line and get the car checked out. There was 1 car left, in my category, when I got to the parking garage (Toyota Rav4). I got in the car, checked out of the parking garage and the Alamo agent looked at my paperwork and scanned the car barcode and I was on my way for my 6 day rental. 2 days later I receive a call from Alamo asking why I had not returned my car, I said I have it for 6 days. The agent said ok, i see that she was looking at the incorrect reservation and said no problem I see you have it for 6 days. Day 6, try to drop the car off and long line for the return because only 1 agent checking in cars. I was told that my reservation was already closed and I replied that this must be still confusion from the original call I had on day 2. She realized Alamo had me in a Hyundai Tucson and not the Toyota rav 4 (which was causing the confusion). Spent 45 minutes at check in as the agent tried to fix my paperwork so I could check out and get to my flight as she also was trying to check in the other 20 cars that had arrived. She said that I have it fixed and that she would email me the receipt. No surprise, no email but I did receive a phone call the next day (after I was already home) asking when I was dropping off my car. Finally have it fixed and they did comp me $75.00 of my rental charge for the inconvenience. Overall a very bad experience with Alamo. I normally choose an Enterprise Holdings rental company (Ent, National or Alamo) for my rentals due to fast/efficient service even if their pricing is a little higher. Short staffing, bad execution as well as bad follow up ruined this rental experience, You can do better Enterprise/Alamo
I want to recognize that Alamo ultimately made this right after I contacted them. They adjusted my charges to match my original reservation, and I appreciate that.
However, I think other customers using Skip the Counter should be aware of one thing: carefully review your final rental agreement.
I booked directly through Alamo’s website and declined all optional protection products during my reservation. I completed the online check-in so I could skip the counter. At the airport, I simply picked one of the designated vehicles, showed my driver’s license at the exit, and drove away. At no point was I shown a revised rental agreement or told that anything had changed from my reservation.
Later, I discovered that my final rental agreement included optional protection products that were not part of my original reservation. After I contacted Alamo, they corrected the charges to match my reservation.
My concern is with the process. If the final rental agreement differs from the reservation, customers should be clearly shown those changes and given an opportunity to review and accept or decline them before leaving the lot. Until that process is improved, I recommend that everyone who uses Skip the Counter compare their final rental agreement to their original reservation before driving away.

I would say this is the best Alamo location I've been to. It's very conveniently located right at the airport (few steps across from baggage claim). The staff was super friendly and went way out of their way to ensure I was happy with the vehicle I rented, which I was.
I want to especially acknowledge the 5 Star service that Heleming gave to me. She helped me pick up the vehicle about 12 hours earlier than my original reservation. I appreciate your help and warm personality.
