When vehicle were first constructed the bumper was designed as the initial point of impact. It was usually made of steel and was very strong. Now bumpers server the same function, but they also have systems installed in them to avoid an accident. These system are very precise and usually needs diagnostic and calibration for them to function.
Cosmetic-Appearance Repair
Scratches, gouges, rashes are all cosmetic repairs. The repair can be just a simple buff for the scratches which does or does not involve the removal of the bumper. Gouges and rashes usually require the removal of the bumper and the proper repair of the bumper. On newer vehicle the process usually involves working with the parking, airbag and lane departure sensors. Cost associated with working with the sensor are diagnostic and calibration of the system before and after the repairs.
