  Scheduled an oil change online, only to be told they had too many cars and couldn’t honor it. If you don’t respect online appointments, don’t offer them. Just make it first-come, first-served. Customers shouldn’t have to waste their time making an appointment that the business has no intention of honoring. Very disappointing experience.

  Just bought a car for my son that showed regular (annual) service at the Car-X Tire and Auto in Golden Valley per CarFax/AutoCheck. I wanted the service history so my son could know when things were last serviced and to continue the scheduled maintenance - possibly with this location as they had the prior history. Well, they were completely uninterested in retrieving the service history and even after persistance from me to look (multiple calls), claimed they had no record of the vehicle via VIN and/or service dates. And so I'm likewise now not interested in using or recommending their service. Maybe they do good work, or maybe not. Maybe the record-keeping is an error with CarFax/AutoCheck or maybe it is a problem Car-X has. I don't know. But customer service is obviously not their strong suit.

  Made an appointment through Car advise for 6:30. Received a phone call at 5:45 was told they can't service my vehicle because there's no mechanics on site. Pulled in two minutes later to a couple of mechanics standing with the caller. Booked the appointment several days prior. Was told to reschedule for a couple of days later. I was 45 minutes early. I was told it takes an hour to change oil ( which is also untrue.) I suggest you block out 6:30 appointments through Car Advise because you don't honor them. It's an issue if you're turning customers away to leave early.

  Had to have my car towed to this shop after being told over the phone that they could diagnose and repair it the same day. After paying to have the vehicle towed there, I was informed that they could not fix the car after all. An employee even stated that “the person who answers the phone just says whatever,” which was extremely frustrating to hear. Because we relied on the information they gave us, my fiancé and I were left stranded late in the day when many other repair shops were already closing.

  I went into the CarX in Golden Valley, MN for a scheduled oil change and tire rotation. No one was in the lobby and it didn't have many cars in shop. It took Roger, the manager, over five minutes to get me signed in (I've been here many times. I was told the service would be about 45 minutes and it would be ready. I was going to walk to a nearby business. I returned in 45 minutes and was told that they were waiting for a oil filter to arrive at 4:17 which came and went. Roger called the delivery service and was told they didn't have a driver. I told Roger that he needed to go and pick it up and he did. This 45 minute job turned into an hour and a half. Roger took no account ability for there not being a filter in shop for my Honda Accord and he is the one whom I booked the appointment with and who is in charge of making sure parts are in the shop. I asked for a discount for the inconvenience and was told I already had a discount (I had a coupon for a standard oil change and tire rotation for $29.99) and in the end the bill was $45 and no discount for their mistake and me being inconvenienced for an extra 45 minutes. I will not return to this location.
