  Smooth process, went to the lower level of the Duluth Airport and checked in at the National Counter. Received the key and walked across to the parking structure found the car in the space as indicated it should be. After completing my rental, returned to the Duluth airport and parked in the designated National spaces, returned the keys to the counter and hopped on my plane to the next destination. Friendly service at the counter on both occasions! Did not have to wait very long either. Car was clean and no issues during the trip.

  The car I rented had a flat that deflated in the span of two minutes in a neighborhood that contains mansions at 540pm. For the next two and a half hours, I called road side assistance six times, looked at the update link and texts many times, and received four calls from the dispatch regarding a tow. I was sitting halfway in the lane on a small road and was told repeatedly they couldn't find a tow truck despite a quick google search that found a tow truck company for that city that advertised towing on Easter four hours prior. I told the dispatch and road side assistance that company, but I still had no help. I was repeatedly told to stay with the car. I was eventually told they could get the vehicle at 10am. The app said 1am to 3am. It is unacceptable to leave a single woman in a new city in a rental car for hours in freezing temperatures. When I said I couldn't stay in the car for more than another 20 minutes, I was told I could leave the car but place it in neutral. The staff at the rental location were nice to talk to the day of and after, but they were unable to help me when I was stranded. I eventually left the car in the same place locked and took an uber back to my hotel. At that point, two single men stopped to ask if I was okay. Frankly, the car had no spare tire so I was unable to get any help besides a tow. It was a horrible experience the night before a job interview.

  I rent every week from National across the country in my travels for work. I had an assignment in Duluth and for the past 9 weeks I have had the best service from any National that I have rented from...and I have great experiences else where. I want to give a special shout out to Sam. He greeted me every Sunday evening with a smile and welcome back after week one. When you travel as much as I do, its the little things like being remembered and greeted as an old friend that make my day...and keep me brand loyal. Hope Sam gets the kudos for his excellent work...he is a good one...but then again everyone I came in contact was as well. May not be back to Duluth for sometime, but if I have to come back, it's good knowing I have friends who will be happy to see me. Thanks again to Sam and all the staff who have been fantastic.
