  During my oil change the air filter was checked. Vehicle ran like crap afterwards. Manager came back in after his shift and purchased a new MAP sensor and replaced it and made sure vehicle was running correctly after. Would highly recommend!!

  They left my engine air filter housing unsnapped, allowing moisture and debris to enter my engine for the last 1500~ miles. I did not notice until inspecting my engine compartment more closely. It never occurred to me that someone who is supposed to be professional would be so careless. You unsnap, look at engine filter, then snap it back on. Why would anyone skip that snap back on step? Customers shouldn’t have to check to make sure this was done but now I feel like I should go back to doing my own oil changes instead of trusting a stranger with my hard earned vehicle that I rely on.

  I have always received great service at the North Side Valvoline in Bemidji, MN but the other day it was getting late and I ended up going to the South Side Valvoline in Bemidji. The service was fantastic.

  Prior to March 5th, 2026, I had never utilized a quick-lube service, primarily due to the consistently negative reputation associated with such establishments. Following my recent experience, I can confirm that many of those concerns are well-founded, and I have decided that I will no longer patronize these facilities. To be clear, my grievance does not pertain to the staff, as every individual I encountered was exceptionally professional and courteous. However, I am assigning a one-star rating solely because it is the lowest available option. My primary concern initially arose from the cost of the services. The final price, including a discount, was $80.25, suggesting a pre-discount total of approximately $90.25 after taxes. This exceeds any amount I have previously paid for an oil change. Typically, I entrust my vehicles only to the Ford service centers in Crookston or Thief River Falls. On this occasion, however, I opted for a quick-lube service due to scheduling constraints. In comparison, the Ford garages have never charged such a high fee; my highest previous invoice was $81.97, which included a tire rotation. A standard oil change, fluid top-off, and vehicle inspection generally cost approximately $60 at those locations. The most significant issue occurred during a subsequent oil change, where it was discovered that the oil pan bolt had been stripped. I was fortunate that no severe damage to the vehicle occurred and that the issue was identified promptly. I believe that had I not serviced the vehicle as frequently, the consequences could have been far more serious. Visual evidence indicates that the original bolt was overtightened, likely due to an over-reliance on power tools. I have never personally adjusted the oil pan bolt, nor would I have reason to verify the integrity of their work if performed correctly. The damage was only brought to my attention during the following service appointment. Consequently, I will no longer utilize quick-lube services, based on this experience at the Valvoline location in Bemidji.
