Purchased a used 2014 F-150 from at Apple Ford in Apple Valley and unfortunately the experience after the sale has been very disappointing. Shortly after purchase, the truck began sputtering and hesitating under acceleration and threw a Cylinder 5 misfire code (P0305). An independent inspection recommended replacing all spark plugs and an ignition coil almost immediately. The truck also has brake pulsation requiring brake work, torn wiper blades, inoperative bulbs, and even a broken sunglasses holder that I had already pointed out. What frustrates me most is not that a used high-mileage truck needed maintenance — I understand that comes with buying used. The frustrating part was the dealership manager, Rick, acting as though these issues were completely acceptable and not something that reasonably should have been identified during a basic used vehicle inspection or road test before being sold on the lot. I’m now spending a significant amount of money immediately after purchase just to get the truck to a baseline reliable condition. Again, I understand used vehicles are sold as-is, but I expected better inspection standards and better customer support from a large Ford dealership.

This is our fifth vehicle from these guys and they have taken care of us from start to finish every time. They have always treated us fairly, given us the best prices and made sure our service was taken care of in a prompt and professional fashion. If you are considering buying a new or used vehicle, trading a vehicle in or currently own a Ford and are looking for a new service center these guys would be an amazing choice.

I bought my car from here 2019 fusion certified pre owned. I have had it for 2 1/2 years now. Its had to have the transmission worked on a few times now. 1st major overhaul last summer. Tried to offer me extra services then too. No car wash. So now 10 months later the car wont shift out of park. Now I let it sit for a few months so I recognize that made the situation worse. In terms of the battery. They tell me its bushing for the shifter cable. SO it was fine 10 months ago so it wasnt replaced but now its worn out and since its no longer under warranty I will have to pay for it. Which was like fine, but they charge diagnosis of 215 dollars. Then wouldn't accept a half off diagnosis coupon because I didn't have it picked up and delivered. Which is outside their range of pick up and it was towed in. Keep in mind I was told they were gonna tow it and never showed up only to find out later they dont tow. That was a mess of an appointment in its self. Which was part of what led me to let it sit. So now they try to sell me 2400 on maintenance not actually looking at any of the fluids but going strictly off mileage. Much of which should of been done under the initial certification. I am not even holding it against them that I was called three times and told they were gonna call me with an estimate and after 5 days they only just found the car. Because the tow driver threw the key in the drop box. It was dead so I get it. Again things happen. But the advisor did a decent job of getting it looked at right away. Credit where credit is due. Now, I was the quick lane rep for ford and for this dealer and worked in dealers for 30 years. Half of the time for ford. No consideration at all. To have to pay for a part they worked on a short time ago, and to be refused a coupon from their site because it wasn't picked up and dropped off (aka more work and costs for them) Again no wash nothing. Just expensive. and sloppy work. They claimed they replaced the battery in my fob but it looks as though someone had one in their toolbox and still charged me for it. Things you wouldn't notice unless you feel taken advantage of. I have had my fill of this place. I know how dealers are suppose to take care of a customer this wasn't it. I will say I opted not to buy the 301 dollar battery and was offered a discount at Autozone for being such a good customer. Hmm wonder why dealers get such a bad reputation. Dealers are expensive because they are to provide a level of service above the competition. However I have had much better experiences at the Valvoline up the road. So this is the last time I need to make that 25 mins trip for nothing. Oh and the warranty I was sold and told was a power train was electrical. I bought it to help the sales guy out only to be mislead on what I was actually buying. So disappointed with the several times I have been to this place. Dont bother. They dont provide any level of service beyond how much can we make with as little extra as possible. And this is where expensive is fine when your getting the best service possible. Car wash, competent people parts being protected by warranty. Even assisting when a person has had something happen a few times and its questionable it was done correctly. But those are not considered. What is the point of certifying a car if its not different then driving in with a old beater.

I received a canned reply from Applevalley Ford wanting me to contact them. I cannot think of anything they can do to resolve it, last times they tried to resolve an issue, my next experiences got worse. Maybe they can tell us here what they did or going to do to keep these kind of experiences and poor customer service from happening. I told them after this last free oil change not to send me a review request, but they did, so here it is. As other reviews I read have stated, I would’ve rated a zero rating if it was an option. I had purchased 2 vehicles back to back at this dealer ship, a 1995 taurus and a 2005 F150, both with extended warranties and due to years of poor service experiences at applevalley ford in 2015, I purchased a truck at Walser. That was an excellent experience, as well as there service department. That vehicle got totaled in an accident in 2024 and the only truck my wife and I could agree on was a new f150. I returned to AVF figuring things had maybe got better, and they are close to our home. I now don’t care for the truck we bought, the heater doesn’t work well and a lot of technology is unsafe & unreliable, especially for the cost of the truck. As part of the extended warranty, I got 4 oil change packages. This is the 1st new vehicle I have owned and since I spent most of my career as an auto technician, I thought I would check the oil level after the 1st oil change they did, was over full by 3/8 of an inch, I wrote a review about it and they gave me an additional free oil change and said they would do better next time. Then continually contacted me about changing the review I left, telling me in the email how to answer the questions in the ford follow-up questionnaire. The next 3 times I went there, it was overfull every time. I got sick of bringing it up, but the 4th time I did and Richard Thomas told me he would make a note so the next oil change it wouldn’t happen. I came in today for the 5th oil change and after nearly an hour I went to see what was taking so long and they were trying to be sure to not over fill it, adding and draining oil to get it right. They finished and told me it took 6.5 qts. Capacity is 7.75. I checked it and level was at the correct mark on the dipstick. Richard said he checked with service and parts and thought it had the wrong dip stick, finally determined it had the right dipstick and suggested that another quart should be added, which I replied that then the level would be a quart over full on the dipstick. I replied I had an appointment to get to and he was going to follow-up with me later. I noticed too that the mileage was entered wrong on the work order I received. He called the next day and left me a message stating that the oil level should be fine and was sorry for all the issues regarding this and decided he was going to get his dispensers checked. I also had a scary situation regarding the brakes and transmission on snow last winter and I went to the service department and told them that I had found several posts online about others with the same experience online, but they didn’t want to do anything about it since it didn’t have anything “listed in the history”. Brought the truck in also for the heater issue and they kept it for a week and never fixed anything even though I demonstrated the issue on a test drive with the service manager, he said he was going to contact the local ‘FordTech guy’ and then never did. I have managed several automotive repair shops over the years, so I know there are mistakes made once in a while and what to look for that makes a good or poor repair shop. The experiences I have had with this service department and quick lube are beyond pathetic and I will never recommend them. A friend of mine bought a similar new f150 as mine on the same day, and he also has had very poor experience with the truck and with the service department. I can only hope I can use a different repair shop than Apple Valley Ford to service the truck if I need to use the extended warranty or need other warranty work. I received a

Prior to her most recent visit, my wife and I felt like the service department was decent. However, I have doubts about returning--which is unfortunate because the location was fairly convenient for us. My wife arrived for her early morning appointment she scheduled in advance herself and the man who met her at the door rudely asked if she knew why she was there. Of course, she was there for routine maintenance. Something along the lines of "How can we help you today?" would have been just fine. A few hours later we got the call...the upsell. Sure, this happens everywhere, but a few things with this interaction were particularly troubling. 1) When my wife asked about the typical interval for the recommended brake flush the response was this should have been performed 10,000 miles earlier. Guess what? The vehicle was there 10,000 miles ago. This conversation could have happened sooner than 3 hours after the car was dropped there. 2) The late recommendation on brake flush was combined with a recommendation for a fuel system treatment. That was a new one to us. My wife asked for a little time to discuss with me whether we wanted to spend that money at the moment and the advisor just kept on talking which just made us feel rushed. In that time we were told pricing for the fuel service was same as the brake flush. We just went ahead and opted for it since we have a long extended Ford warranty and expect to keep the car awhile. Our mistake as we later learned with the miles we have on the car the fuel system flush is more like a wallet flush. However, it was a $169.00 fine for our ignorance...more on that later. 3) Two hours after the upsell...no word on when we can pick up the car. We got up early on a Saturday to drop the car for routine maintenance in the hope we could get it done and move on with our life by the afternoon. Ope! We figured with 2 hours until closing time we better just call them. Of course, the car was done (who knows when?) and they were just about to call us. 4) We arrived to pay and were given the total and asked to sign off on the $580+ bill without being given a breakedown of what was done first. I should've thought to ask, but our kid was already 30 minutes past nap time. There was no hesitation to let me know they'd add 3% for me to use a credit card (please!, but thank goodness for cashback rewards to soften that blow). Once I'm paid up, then I get the record. Once I get on my way it hits me...how did we end up just shy of $600...Wow! the maintenance package we actually scheduled cost less than I thought. Was it tax? Shop supplies? Doc fee? All of the above plus the fuel treatment was $110.00 more than we were advised on the phone. For a place that likes to boast about not being the stereotypical dealer this experience was exactly that plus 3%. We were repeat service business with plans of maybe shopping for another vehicle there someday (some dealers understand how those departments feed each other), but I guess the extra profit on a basic service visit was worth more to them. I didn't intend write such a long review, but as I'm about to post it I'm having less trouble understanding why we don't want yo go back
