- JBJeff BOct 28, 20265.0I have been coming to this Advance Auto Parts location since 2000 and have always received top-notch customer service, great advice, and timely parts delivery for my 1998 Honda Civic. Former employees Samantha and Scott set an incredibly high bar here for years, and I was saddened to hear today that they have moved on from the company. However, after my experience today, I am confident the store is in excellent hands. I went in to get a replacement/exchange for a Magna Flow catalytic converter that was only 1.5 years old. Even though my original receipt was from the Rosemount location, the new manager, Dan, accommodated me without hesitation when I explained that I prefer the Apple Valley store for its user-friendly environment. He seamlessly processed the paperwork without any hesitation We ended up having a great conversation swapping car stories—I showed him my '98 Civic and he shared his 2011 Navigator. Dan's helpful attitude and welcoming demeanor prove that the excellent service this location is known for will definitely continue under his leadership. Highly recommend this team!

Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
