The tool was a common tool to check the compression of a cylinder. I then asked if they had one in stock and his reply was “no”. He never looked it up or offered to look it up. I walked down the tool isle and found one and brought it to the register he was at. His reply was “oh, you found one”. After ringing it up he asked how I wanted my receipt and I said “printed”. He handed me the receipt and I said “Thank You” and he said nothing. It seems that manners are something of the past and a thank you given to a patron is as well. Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

HOW DO BRAKES WORK?

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
