But the employee Jeff the shorth gentlemen with the beard was beyond rude an unhelpful slamming keys down typing in my information when HE sold me a battery the previous week and said I could get money back if I brought in my old one and when I come in to do that there was ZERO record of me purchasing it meaning he didn’t put me in the system somehow and never gave me a receipt so I assumed it would be online and when I come in to exchange it and am talking with his manager he’s standing behind him scowling rolling his eyes and sighing absolute WORST customer service I’ve had at any automotive store wouldn’t even get wiper blades here…

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
