I’m a big fan. Joe and Raven and Chris are just amazing. Joe went above and beyond for me, and I would recommend him and the entire sales and service department to everyone! Thanks for loaning me your personal charger Joe. You didn’t have to do that! Chris, thanks for a speedy fix and excellent communication! And Raven, we came back for my car after we bought my husbands truck solely because of you. You have a customer for life!! Also, I love my Volvo so much it’s ridiculous. Thanks again.

BEWARE… read this before purchasing anything from a Suburban dealership. I recently found out the hard way that the Suburban collection of dealerships here in metro Detroit are not the same dealerships they once were but instead operate in name only under the parent group LITHIA motors. This was the 3rd vehicle I’ve bought from Suburban but the 1st since being part of LITHIA motors. I purchased a used Honda CR-V from Suburban Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Garden City for $13,500 cash on May 28 from salesman Rich Putty, who told me the vehicle was already a great deal and there was no room to negotiate. Just 2 days and 248 miles later, every warning light came on and the engine could barely run. What followed was weeks of frustration. Rich never followed through on promised callbacks, service advisor Samantha rarely provided updates and communicated exclusively by text even when asked to call back, and after the vehicle sat for days I still couldn't get clear answers. When I met with General Manager Joe Sinishtaj he was unaware of the situation and told me the vehicle was sold "as is" and he even asked what I expected from a higher-mileage vehicle. The lack of empathy and professionalism was shocking. After disassembling the engine, I found the turbocharger had been recently replaced and evidence of significant pre-existing mechanical issues, including a failed head gasket, damage to the #3 piston, cylinder head fire deck damage, and a damaged fuel injector tip. The engine also showed signs of abnormal combustion and intercooler oil contamination consistent all tell tail signs of a failed turbo compressor wheel. These were major internal engine failures that would not be expected after only 248 miles of ownership and account for the $5,000+ repair estimate. In my experience, Suburban under Lithia Motors showed zero accountability, poor communication, and no concern for customer satisfaction. I would strongly recommend taking your business anywhere but Suburban or any other dealer owned by LITHIA.

Took my volvo xc60 for wiper problem. The dealership service put the issue on the windshield glass installer that the wiper was rubbing on the hood. Initially he said it was because the vehicle hit an obstacle and hood got bent. Took a look at it and realized it was a loose nut. Reading xc60 reviews online made me realize this is a common problem. Took me 2 mins to tighten the nut. We paid an additional 8 grand for wear repair and maintenance but not at all worth from the dealership services provided. Always looking to squeeze the last penny out of you. Never buying a volvo again. I read the reviews here and a lot of people have similar experience with the service department.

On June 24, I had my Volvo towed to Suburban Volvo in Troy because the brakes had completely failed and the car was undrivable. Since I couldn’t safely take it anywhere else, I wasn’t in a position to get a second opinion. The dealership presented me with a service estimate of nearly $5,000. I declined everything except the brake repair, which still came to about $2,500. I was initially told the repair would take 4–5 days because a part had to be ordered. The part arrived on June 26, so I expected the repair to be completed shortly thereafter. Instead, the completion date kept getting pushed back. I received multiple updates saying they needed “a few more days,” followed by another delay after a test drive because they had encountered a “hiccup.” I finally picked up my car on July 2—eight days after it was towed in. To be fair, my service advisor, Chris, was courteous, professional, and kept me informed throughout the process. My frustration isn’t with him; it’s with the dealership’s overall handling of the repair. Unfortunately, this is the second time I’ve used Suburban Volvo for a major repair, and both experiences have been nearly identical: very high repair costs combined with repair times that significantly exceeded the original estimate. Based on my experiences, I won’t be returning for future service.

Hello! My dad took my Volvo in for servicing and they scammed him. They sold us the wrong car part and admitted to it then the next day they charged us for it and told us to sign papers if we wanted our car back and lied about selling us the wrong part and making us pay for “labor”. I love my car, I really do but this type of unprofessional behavior is not okay and save your money and go to another auto repair shop. This place is full of disrespeful people and they’re out to just get your money and wrongfully charge you for a part you didn’t ask for. They also forced us to sign papers that had the wrong charge and if we didn’t sign we wouldn’t get our car. I’ve never had an issue with other dealerships before and this was completely uncalled for. Save your money and go somewhere else. It’s not worth your time.
