  Beware - they'll let you book a car online without having one available for you to rent, and in a small town that means you're stranded at the airport. Local manager will blame "corporate". No support from customer service. I see they responded below asking me to call in - I’ve already done that numerous times and got no meaningful response, when I could get a response at all. They can contact me if they’d like to discuss.

  Although I had some issues with my rental, I’m still leaving a 5 star review because of the excellent customer service I received from Austin! When I turned the rental car in, I explained the few issues I had to let them know for the next renters! Austin was super apologetic and ended up making it right although I didn’t ask for him to do so! Thank you for understanding and refunding me a portion to help offset those concerns. I work in customer service and can appreciate a job well done. You were awesome Austin, thanks again!

  National in Traverse City, MI does not have skip-the-counter service or 'Emerald Isle'. The line to the rental counter in the TVC airport was 2+ hours on July 9. There was one person working the counter. Other workers were present but not assisting customers.

  I would not recommend unless you enjoy extremely long lines. This location has a shared counter for all National/Alamo/Enterprise customers. They don't offer an Emerald Aisle or dedicated line for Emerald Club members. You will be waiting with the masses that rented from any of these 3 companies in an extremely long line that extended all the way past the baggage claim stalls. From the time we entered the line to the time it was our turn at the counter was over 1.5 hours of waiting. None of the other providers (Hertz, Budget, etc) had much of a line at all.
