Instead, one of their extremely knowledgeable employees saved me hundreds upon hundreds of dollars, that were about to be spent on the wrong parts! Together he and I went over what was wrong with it. Basically for my benefit, so I could understand it too LOL, and also how to go about fixing it... While at the same time making sure I was getting the least expensive however still the best quality parts for my money, not to mention him showing me that I would get a better deal online through their website and then I could just have it shipped directly to their store with no extra $$ from me!!! I WILL NOT EVER, NEVER EVER, SHOP AT A DIFFERENT AUTO PARTS STORE IN TRAVERSE CITY AGAIN, I WILL GLADLY PAY EXTRA (although I can say with confidence that I highly doubt with this store that will be necessary, IT'S LIKE THEY ACTUALLY WANT TO HELP YOU SAVE MONEY TOO, I JUST CAN'T GET OVER THAT 🤯!!!!!!!) Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
