- SKSara Zubair KhanOct 8, 20261.0DO NOT GO TO TUFFY ON BAY RD. I went here for a front-right wheel bearing replacement. Before the repair, I was not having ABS/VSC warning-light issues. After they replaced the bearing, my ABS and VSC lights started coming on around 70–80 mph. I went back several times. They first blamed rust/debris from the axle and cleaned it twice, even telling me I didn’t need a new axle if it was working. When the problem continued, I took my car to another mechanic, who found two damaged/broken teeth on the axle shaft in the same area Tuffy had worked on. Tuffy never told me about this damage when they originally did the wheel-bearing repair. Even more concerning, they told me they had already ordered an axle shaft before clearly explaining or diagnosing which part was causing the problem. That made me question whether they already knew something was wrong with the shaft. Then, after telling me the part was ordered, they suddenly said I would have to pay for the repair. The communication was just as bad. I was given appointments for Saturday, then Sunday, then Wednesday, and finally Thursday. When I called about my Thursday appointment, one of the managers disconnected/hung up after hearing my name and neither called me back. I strongly believe the axle damage happened during or in connection with the wheel-bearing work. I know the warning lights started after their repair and another mechanic later found the damaged axle teeth. I gave this location multiple chances to make it right. Instead, I got changing explanations, changing appointments, poor communication, and was told I would have to pay for a problem that started after their repair. I would not recommend Tuffy on Bay Rd. Get a second opinion and document everything.
