  Exceptional Service! Loyal for Life! 💯 I've learned the hard way to be selective about where I take my vehicles, and I don't give my trust easily when it comes to automotive repairs. Kevin, Seth, and the team at Tuffy on Gratiot have earned every bit of it. In September, my car broke down in the nearby Meijer parking lot when the gearshift stopped working. Unable to put it into drive or reverse, I was facing the inconvenience and expense of having it towed. My partner and I stopped at Tuffy to explain the situation. Seth, the manager, listened carefully and, to my surprise, offered to go right over to Meijer himself to check it out! Not only did Seth save me a tow by getting my vehicle back to the shop, but he also repaired it that same day, addressing another repair I needed as well. I drove my car home before dusk! Living in a rural area where transportation alternatives are limited, having my vehicle back within hours instead of being without it for days was an enormous relief. The consideration Seth showed for my situation and my time made a lasting impression. Superior Service, Round 2! Just a few weeks later, my son was involved in a fender bender, and we were concerned that his brakes may have failed. He'd had his brakes repaired at a different Tuffy location earlier in the year, but had never been a customer at this shop. Kevin patiently listened to our concerns, located his previous repair records, and confirmed that the parts were still under warranty! Their team inspected and test drove the vehicle, confirmed that the brakes were functioning properly, and discovered a major radiator leak. They didn't charge us a penny for the assessment! Rather than simply trying to sell us another repair, Kevin explained that a collision shop equipped to handle both body damage and mechanical repairs could be a better option for us. Having everything done in one place could save us time and prevent having to redo work. They made sure we had water in the radiator and helped us on our way. I highly value this level of integrity! When we encountered difficulty opening the damaged hood at the body shop, even after Seth had shown us how to open it, I called him for a quick refresher. Not only did he offer to come help, he actually drove over! He also took the time to review the mechanical repair estimate the body shop emailed me afterward. (Did I mention I have trust issues with auto repair shops? 😁) What impresses me most is not just their mechanical knowledge and professionalism, but their honesty, patience, kindness, and genuine concern for their customers. When I told Kevin I wanted to write an outstanding review, he thanked me and said they really appreciated it, but his main concern was making sure we were safe and taken care of. As someone with over 30 years in the customer service industry and decades as a single mom, I know the difference between people who say they care and people who genuinely do. Knowing my family's safety is in capable, caring hands gives me peace of mind that's hard to put a price on. Kevin's statement said it all. Kevin, Seth, and the entire team, thank you for treating us with such care and respect. You've earned our trust, our future business, and my highest recommendation!

  Great customer service. Seth, the store manager is amazing. He a great mechanic that actually knows what’s he doing and Won’t take advantage of you.

  The staff were VERY helpful and I didn’t have to wait long at all. They actually fixed something the last company that did my oil change messed up (at no charge). I also am a veteran and they do have a military discount. Couldn’t say better things about this place. I will definitely be coming back.
