- TPTaylor PettettAug 10, 20261.0Went to go rent a truck I had reservations for and instead of getting the 16ft got a 26ft. Was talked down to multiple times about driving it. I was on a time crunch for moving someone so I picked up late Friday and returned Saturday. I wasn’t charged the extra for 26ft which I shouldn’t have been not my mess up. Next I get the truck at the rental place dude isn’t nice tries to get me to put $400 down I was told much cheaper. I refused. He didn’t say anything about fuel or def or anything. I do the move drop it Saturday ( he said back it in next to the others when you return but if you can’t don’t worry). Then I drive the POS the DEF gauge doesn’t work. Then we are done and go to fuel to return (not from area mind you) the closest places I’m finding to fuel are like an hr away. I’m like well he didn’t say we had to and idk what to do there isn’t anywhere nearby it’s later on a Saturday no one there. Whatever. We drop it off (I backed it in btw). Then Sunday I get a call from Penske asking if I ever returned the truck which I had like idk what that was about I told the guy (he is in Lansing) about my experience at this place and I’m not happy and I even said hey I didn’t fuel and def wasn’t fuel and gauge doesn’t work. Monday comes and they are now charging me an extra $262 for fuel. I call and get ran around. Honestly rent anywhere else. Rent rite or wherever these are in mt pleasant that guy is rude. Penske also should ensure that everyone knows where to fuel etc. I would have been fine in my original 16ft truck. Lansing guy today tried to say it was my contract and I agreed to the truck size I said yeah cuz I was moving my mom and had limited time to do so and you called me an hr before picking up… what was I supposed to do? Again, all could have been avoided had I received the correct truck size…
