- EREternity RahrigJul 2, 20262.0Went in to get a new battery for my van. Got everything checked out and the only thing I needed was a battery. I even got my alternator checked to make sure i didn't need a new one. Well they put my battery in loose and it caused my alternator to break. Then when I called to see about what discount I could get or what they could do to help because the battery was for sure put in loose because we had to tighten the heck out if it they said basically that wouldn't cause that to happen and they charge $400 for alternators. Well I'm just going to order one on Amazon for $125 because $400 is outrageous for an alternator. They could have at least given me a discount to come back to them to get an alternator to fix my van but instead played it off like a loose battery wouldn't cause that when literally everything was fine until that battery got put in loose. All in all they could have given me a discount or they could have been more helpful. Definitely won't be buying part from them again or having them put another battery in again.

What are the signs of a bad car battery?
Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.
How much does a car battery cost?
A traditional lead/acid car battery can range between $60-$120. HOW DO BRAKES WORK?

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
