I wish I could give Jacqueline Allison at Goodyear in Madison Heights 100 stars because 5 simply isn’t enough.
I was driving down the freeway when I suddenly noticed smoke in my rearview mirror, and my Jeep started pulling hard from side to side. I immediately pulled over onto the shoulder, but everything looked normal from what I could see. Thinking it might have been nothing, I got back on the freeway, only for the same thing to happen again. I took the very next exit and called my uncle, who told me to slowly drive about a half mile to the nearest tire shop.
I first stopped at Belle Tire, where I was told I could either drive another 15 minutes to work and come back later or head next door to Goodyear to see if they could get me in sooner.
Walking into Goodyear ended up being one of the best decisions I could have made.
Although they weren’t able to work on my vehicle immediately, Jacqueline came outside, looked at my tire, and immediately said, “You absolutely should not be driving this vehicle anywhere.”
She took the time to physically show me what was wrong instead of just telling me. My two rear tires were completely bald, and one tire was literally coming apart, exposing the steel wires. Those wires, along with part of my tire guard, were getting caught as the wheel rotated. She explained that I was incredibly fortunate I had gotten off the freeway before experiencing a blowout.
As a young woman who doesn’t know much about vehicles, I often get anxious walking into auto shops because I’m afraid of being talked down to or taken advantage of. Jacqueline was the complete opposite. She never made me feel embarrassed or uninformed. She patiently explained everything, answered every question, and educated me on what happened, what to watch for in the future, and why it was so dangerous.
What stood out most wasn’t just her knowledge, it was how genuinely concerned she was for my safety. She wasn’t trying to upsell me or pressure me into buying anything. She treated me the way a family member would, giving honest advice because she truly cared. She was even shocked that I had been told it was okay to continue driving on that tire.
After helping me get a donut tire installed, she carefully explained how fast I should drive, what warning signs to listen for, and even asked me to call the shop once I made it home safely. That level of compassion is something you just don’t see very often anymore.
I live nearly two hours away, and I can honestly say I would absolutely make that drive again just because of the service I received from Jacqueline. This wasn’t just excellent customer service, it was one of the most genuine, caring experiences I’ve ever had at any business.
If you’re looking for tires or any work on your vehicle, do yourself a favor and ask for Jacqueline Allison at Goodyear in Madison Heights. She is knowledgeable, honest, compassionate, and truly exceptional at what she does. She made me leave feeling educated, confident, and, most importantly, safe.
Thank you, Jacqueline, for going above and beyond. You may have very well prevented a serious accident that day, and I’ll never forget your kindness.
