  I had an excellent experience at Tuffy on East Grand River! The staff was friendly, professional, and took the time to explain everything without trying to upsell me on services I didn’t need. They got my vehicle taken care of quickly, the pricing was fair, and the quality of the work gave me peace of mind. It’s hard to find an auto shop that’s both honest and reliable, but this team definitely earned my trust. I’ll definitely be coming back and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for dependable auto service! They got my tire done in a heartbeat

  I drove past Tuffy (North Lansing Frandor location) the other day and realized I never left a review for the outstanding service I received over a month ago. I came in after an out-of-town dealership visit with my Land Rover, where I was told they couldn’t find the spare tire winch in my vehicle and was texted a $600 quote to replace it. I declined the repair and requested that my vehicle be delivered back to me so I could get a second opinion locally. I stopped by Tuffy Tire & Auto Service, and Dale and everyone on the team were absolutely fantastic. They quickly checked things over, located the winch exactly where it was supposed to be, reattached my spare tire, and had everything fixed in about five minutes. When I asked what I owed, they refused to charge me. It’s rare to find a business with this level of honesty, professionalism, and genuine care for its customers. They could have easily charged me, but instead they chose integrity and outstanding customer service. Thank you, Dale, and everyone at the North Lansing Frandor Tuffy location, for turning a stressful situation into such a positive experience. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for honest, skilled, and trustworthy auto service.

  I shared a 3 star post yesterday. I am changing it to 5. I am still upset that I wasn’t called when I was told I would be however, this morning they called. They had to replace a caliper they had not seen in the initial inspection. They did not charge for it. Also, I want to add that they are the friendliest group of people there.

  Editing for follow up since the Google does not allow for responses to responses on reviews. Very cool with you sharing out information on my vehicle without my consent. Glad to know that my personal information is in safe and secure hands. Your recommendation for service had one and only one singular goal, to put as much of my money into your companies pocket without any concern for the actual issue at hand. You claim that because I had another mechanic perform maintenance that that confirms accuracy in your diagnosis and lends legitimacy to your outrageous quote but nothing could be further from the truth. I came in with a specific rattling problem, and your mechanics refused to address that issue and invented other problems to try and scam me out of my money for a problem I did not mention having any issues with. The other mechanic only proceeded with the repairs on my vehicle because parts had been ordered and the maintenance was underway. And the entire time we kept thinking, well if Tuffy thinks that things are in such a dire situation then there must be something going on. Surely they wouldn't just invent a critical error to attempt and swindle money from someone. But it's good to have things doublechecked because there are people out there that will try to scam you out of $5000 in order to pop an out of place panel back into its proper housing. If you took pride in operating transparently then you would not have deleted the pictures and service quote that you provided me. So now the tracks are clear and you can move on to the next well meaning person to come in. ============= I’m so glad they sent me a survey and asked for my opinion. I have long trusted Tuffy with checking my cars but the difference between the Southside location and the north side is night and day. The north side seems more professional but they absolutely tried to scam me. I came in mentioning a rattling noise under my car which the Southside Tuffy had helped me with, securing a loose panel beneath my car. What should have been a simple inspection and fix turned quickly into a $5000+ bill where I was told that my brakes were a safety hazard and my struts where well beyond their service life and would need to be replaced or a disaster could happen. My brakes were not even squealing, and my struts had never knocked around once. I’ve known about my cars warped rotors but aside from the plastic rattling sound my car was in fine working order. I took their supplied pictures to another mechanic. The other mechanic replaced my brakes, and did my front struts but upon examining them both the struts and the brakes had plenty of life left in them. And the rattling noise I had initially asked to be checked, the other mechanic popped the panel in place and the noise stopped. If Tuffy Northside was going to try and scam someone out of their hard earned money the least they could have done was popped the loose panel back in place while I was up on the lift. Instead my billable hour went to concocting a story of how best to scare someone into repairs that were not necessary or related to the issue the car was brought in. This type of service makes me question every interaction I’ve had with the company. For years I’ve gone to them for assistance, and now I wonder how many other times I’ve been had. There’s something rotten in this clean looking shop, and people should always get a second opinion of Tuffy says you need work. This is the type of service that gives mechanics all around a bad reputation.

  Well. Belle tire sold me the last tires that I have on my car. They’re almost like new. I had a tire going flat. Got there early and they refused to work on it. They said I’d have to wait like everybody else and put me on a schedule for maybe six hours later. That’s not acceptable… Because it was their tires, especially.. I won’t be going there again.. So right across the road here is Tuffy. It was only about 8:30 in the morning and I went in and told them my story and they took care of me immediately. I had a big dog in my car and I wasn’t allowed in the garage area. That makes sense to me. So they fixed it immediately right there outside the building. It was a little small razor, sharp piece of metal about a quarter in.² square. And they did it happily and friendly. I think I was there a whole 20 minutes. Then I went to pay for it and they told me no charge. This shop does things the right way as far as I’m concerned. And I’ve been around a long time and my grandfather ran a garage for Ashland. And I wrenched my own race car. So I’ve been around. Thank you, Tuffy muffler
