  Bad customer service and management. The management here treated my partner poorly when she had an issue recently with a wash during a visit to Grand Rapids. We were considering getting monthly memberships for our two personal cars and business vehicle at the Ludington location when they open up, but Tommy’s will never see another dollar of ours. We’ll keep washing at the locally owned place. Hopefully management can get some better training on customer service or, better yet, replaced with people who actually care about the customer experience. When you’re charging $15-30 per wash for an automatic car wash, you should treat your customers much better. Judging by all the recent one star reviews, I don’t think this is an isolated incident.

  We really love Tommy’s car wash but if I’m being honest there should be a time limit for space between the cars to give other cars time to get cleaned. We went through and the corvette in front of us actually got cleaned and then we go through and it goes slow then this truck pulls up right on our butt and we get rushed. Our car did not get cleaned at all we’re very disappointed

  Poor quality wash. Poor customer service. I went through once with my car. The belt stopped and I waited 20 seconds - it never started back up so I drove through and the blowers never went off so I drove back to the ticket window. They offered another wash because they had to stop the conveyor for someone that went off the belt. So that instance was not my fault that my car wasn’t finished being washed or dried. So I went through a second time and then noticed my tires were still caked with dirt. I paid for the $14 car wash that specifically said it washed tires. Well, I went back to the cashier and there were two attendees who argued with me that it wasn’t their fault that my tires were caked with dirt and they refused to let me through to get them cleaned. Claiming I had already gone through twice and my wheels weren’t clean so it wasn’t their fault and I needed to pay for the $29.99 wash to clean mud off my tires. I have a Toyota Camry. Not an off road vehicle that runs through mud. They continued to refuse any attempt to let me back through to try to wash the mud off my tires. They then made me exit the driveway. I will never use their services again. This was the poorest customer service I have received in a very long time. I do not recommend their services. Their customer service is very poor as is their washing services. All I wanted was a clean car. If they would have let me through one final wash I would have been content. But they continued to say it wasn’t their fault that the belt stopped and I had to exit the first time. They continue to give me excuses for the inadequacies of their wash and blaming me for the belt stopping. Reconsider before choosing this establishment. I called the store 10 mins after I arrived at my parents house after my car wash (my father recommended I go to Tommy’s for a car wash because they use their monthly services for their cars). I spoke with a manager and he was still placing blame on me for not understanding how a car wash works and my car is likely “not able to be cleaned by their car wash” and “I was expecting more than what was possible”. Also, that “I should take photos and post a Google review if I’m that unhappy”. I took a wet paper towel with Dawn and washed off the dirt. But the attendant said the car wash was likely not able to remove the dirt from my tires, hmmm? Well, it was possible. I just expected a $14 car wash to be capable of also doing it.

  This location has gone downhill lately. I haven’t felt my car comes out as clean as it used to (despite being Works). And is likely the cause of the scratches on my vehicle. I was informed by another that allegedly the attendants and manager are aware of broken parts that are causing issues with cleaning and scratches. Yet when someone filled out a claim to have the damage fixed, the manager denied the customer’s claim. I hope they fix their issues. I will have to rethink my subscription because I don’t want more scratches on my car, since the whole reason for my subscription is to try and make my new car last. Edit: I was reading prior reviews, and it seemed like many issues were reported two months ago. So it’s possible that my scratches are not from my most recent trip. I was happy to see on my most recent trip the driveway to the carwash was repaved. I don’t know what business would be responsible for that shared drive though. I was still disappointed in the cleaning job on my last trip.
